I hadn't remembered until I watched this and the original that the arrangement for Jessie and Gwion was different. In Siobhan's and the film version the childern sing the first half of the song to Truly and she replies before they sing together whereas Jessie and Gwion sing alternate lines from the beginning. It meant there was no need for Jessie to do lots of "acting without singing" while Gwion was singing to her. I wonder whether that's why they changed it?

It was the ending of Truly Scrumptious that was so sweet - both Jessie and Gwion looked as though they had thoroughly enjoyed the performance.

It's a frozen custard I think, usually comes with a fruit puree so I presume a cherry peach one has cherry and peach puree.
I could be wrong though, and I think it's spelt parfait. |

Ha, I have sung the line "cherry peach parfait" more times than is healthy and I never even thought about what it was before!

LaLa, this is the definition from the online dictionary!
par·fait (pär-f) n. 1. A dessert made of cream, eggs, sugar, and flavoring frozen together and served in a tall glass. 2. A dessert made of several layers of different flavors of ice cream or ices, variously garnished and served in a tall glass. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [French, from Old French, perfect, from Latin perfectus; see perfect.] |

This must be the most legendary performance of all the three shows....it has it's own six page long appreciation thread! That's quite impressive

I think you're right, Jessamy. For me, it is the most legendary performance of the three shows - closely followed by Lee Mead's 'Paint it Black'.

Mmm personally I would put paint it black and scrumptious as joint first. Paint It for sheer spine tingling and hair standing on end brilliance, Scrumptious for just a completely irresistable, chemistry and feel good factor brilliance. Both completely stand out performances.

Had a truly scrumptious end of term lunch today, so another reminder of Jessie as we ate our strawberry parfait!
