I made my congratulations on the night and this thread is almost like those who didn't support Jodie didn't want to wish her well.

I really wanted Sarah to go a lot further than she did and when she went out it was almost like a relief because I could be objective about the remaining candidates. Infact even when Sarah was in the competition, if you go into the Jodie appreciation thread you will see that I went in and said how great she was the night she sang "Send in the Clowns". I also recognised early on that she would be a good "traditional" Nancy and there are threads on here where I've defended her.

I'll go further and say that I've been more critical of Jessie than I ever have been of Jodie and if you had asked me two weeks ago I would have picked Jodie over Jessie. However, I still stand by what I said on the night. Jodie deserved to win the competition because she was the most consistent performer, BUT Jessie was by far the best girl on the night. Now if that makes me bitter then sobeit, but that's my objective opinion.

Jodie was fabulous and is a lovely lovely girl and I will be going to see the show for definite but I CANT BLOODY WAIT to see what Jessie does in the future cos she was my favourite all the way through and I can say hand on heart that Jodie was spectacular but

Jessie has simply one thing that none of them had (in my opinion) and that is the ability to make someone hold their breath and shed a tear. to tingle and have shivers down their spine and to jump off the settee screaming 'I LOVE YOU JESSIE' awkward and vulnerable SHE SHINES and I will follow her career with AVID ADORATION.

Yes. I have defended her too. I may not have thought she was the best for the role as I thought that a teenaged Nancy would have made a nice change.
But Jodie is what many people wanted and she will do it justice.
I just dislike the comments that say Jessie couldn't act or convay emotion, because I believe that she did. Some people might not like her style of acting, but many do.
And I don't think the show was manipulated to make her look better.
They all got songs that suited them. And they all got he oliver that suited them aswell.

I thought that Jodie did very well with send in the clowns. A song that I didn't think would suit her. She has proved that she can sing most songs convincingly, and that is what a true actress can do.

She sings in a very convincing way.
I even liked killing me softly, which I usualy hate.
She defentatly was the heartbreaker, flaws and all of the series.

I think you've just summed up why I love her too. She completely has the wow factor without being too polished which I never enjoy as much, don't know why and she's got an endearing personality. Although some find she's pretty intense, she wears her heart on her sleeve, which appeals to me, and out of all the girls I feel she's one of the ones we've got to know best in the show.
I have a lot of admiration for her mostly because she's the same age as me and I will definitely be buying tickets for whatever show she does next.

V.astute point, not seen many of 'em about, disappointed for Sam or chatting in general about the final. I think it really was split between the two 'J's' as ALW said as we approached the final.
