You get to see JB in all his glory here as well!

First video.

Maria School 1
http://youtube.com/watch?v=X0kIZy0-Gxo

*David Ian is not on the panel.

this is from the official site (better vid and there are three)
http://www.cbc.ca/maria/videoGallery.php?id=739180538

ALW
http://www.cbc.ca/maria/videoGallery.php?id=753501766

that official site will have vids like bbc did i am pretty sure.

This is what I meant by any major capital city in Canada or North A. having a huge theatre district that people travel for, is their "west end"

the whole show starts June 15 (don't know how many weeks will be auditions, etc) - don't know about live shows.

Hey All,

I will be downloading HDYSAPLM Canada and will provide links for those who are interested.

Hope it's as good as the British version and not as bad as the American/British "You're the One that I Want"!

For me there's a huge difference between this type of show done by the BBC and ITV.

The audition stages of ITV musical reality shows are like freak shows for me (and I'm including AI as it shown here on ITV2).

CBC is the national broadcaster, more like the BBC than a commercial network.

BBC and CBC are like CTV and ITV do you think? CBC had one difference, they don't charge a licensing fee, but they can still show rubbish. CBC is a national broadcast channel for Canada, just like ABC is for the US, which showed You're The One that I Want... I hope this show does well.

Small correction--Grease:YTOTIW was on NBC, not ABC, and both (along with CBS, Fox and a few other minor ones) are commercial networks, not national broadcasters. The USA does not really have a national channel equivalent to the BBC. The closest thing is PBS, which is viewer-supported public television--it gets it's funds from donations by viewers and corporate grants.

I'm definitely looking forward to catching as much of the Canadian Maria show as I can. The website is very promising.

true it is NBC I forgot that. I was only comparing it to the US like this. NBC, ABC, CBS and even before Fox were the main stations in the US before any of this cable, satellite stuff. CBC and CTV were the stations in Canada before cable and satellite and Global TV.

I am well aware of PBS, I subscribe.

this is why i asked is CBC like BBC and CTV like ITV? I am Canadian and live in both countries and never compared to CBC to the BBC, probably because when i was really young we had 3 tv stations, and we had commercials and didn't pay a licensing fee. i get the difference between commerical and national broadcasting I just never saw it that way. when cable finally was available, we only got cbs, abc and nbc from the US. which were probably all affliliate stations now that i think about it.
