Yes, she has grown on me as well. Not so gobby, think she has learnt to keep her mouth shut and let the others stab each other in the back.

She hasn't grown on me at all. Taking on board all the selective editing to me there's something real desperate about her - I'll get this job no matter how many backs I have to climb over. Yes I know that does go on in life but does it make it right? Yes she's very good at sales for sure but SAS is looking for an Apprentice not just a sales person. Strikes me as she's just there to be on tele .. yes I know I'll get shouted down .. it would be nice to think that nice guys do come first sometimes, or I am being naive?

Is this a joke?

These are the figures from the task:

Renaiisance (Super Business Woman Claire's team)

2,114

Alpha 11,815

Alex - 8,000
Lee - 3,400

So you're telling me that Claire, who was known to have phoned in friends to make deals, on a losing team (again), blaming the PM (again) was the best.

I am sure you are rolling those eyes at yourself realising how wrong you got it.

In terms of the NUMBER of deals she did, she performed better than either of them. It's not her fault her PM picked the wrong product.

Not sure if i really like her, but Sir Allan seems to have a soft spot for her, so i would not be surprised if she is in the final two.

I don't like Michael but I think he asked Claire before selecting the products and she seemed perfectly happy with their selection. They were the first to choose and Claire and Helene were very pleased with the cars they had. They never considered the Zonda until the other team chose it and then we see them looking at the price sheet wondering why Lee took that risk.

I don't dispute that, but the final decision was Michael's to make. My point remains that Claire still did more deals than anyone else, for which she deserves credit.

Yes she did more deals but she contributed to the choice of product. I don't think Michael had the courage not to listen to Claire and Helene.

To be fair to Alex and Lee, it is more difficult to convince someone to pay 2750 pounds than to convince them to pay 120 pounds. We have to remember that Lee and Alex focused on the Zonda and we don't know how many deals they would have been able to make, had they focused on the Aston Martin.

On the other hand, the boys were selling their toys. In the wedding task, Claire outsold them all. Therefore, we can't say that Lee or Alex are better than Claire in sales.

And essentially that is all I am actually saying.

But you could say that about the wedding task.

Are you seriously suggesting that it is just as easy to sell a dearer item as a cheaper one?

I really can't understand what there is to like about Claire. She is totally devoid of a redeeming feature and nowhere near as good as she seems to think she is. Add to that the incredibly annoying voice in which the boasting is done and she really is someone who would make many people leave a room before the stopped being able to resist the urge to lamp her.

Known by whom?

I think you must have misremembered something you read.

The statement made was that after an investigation no action was taken.

Which would imply that the accusation was unfounded.

No, I think we're probably rolling our eyes at how wrong you got it.

Nope, not at all, I don't believe I even hinted at such a thing actually.

Do I like what I see of her (edited) persona? Well, not much of it, but she's clearly taken criticism on board and acted wisely upon it, which is commendable. That's a big part of what has pushed her through to this stage. Do I think she has potential to be a very effective businesswoman? Definitely. She's clearly an achiever. If she can reign her gob in a bit then I reckon she'll get quite far professionally... and she is certainly a match for dear old Suralan.

You didn't.

You were attacked by a classic straw man argument.

Do you want to borrow my matches?

I think she's quite nice now too, would be fine with her winning.

Surely they are ALL putting on an act to some degree, let's be realistic.

That's exactly what you were hinting at. You were saying that the person who sold the most was obviously the better salesperson regardless of what they were trying to sell.

Claire is a stupid, charmless, selfish chav.

Some people seem to think that because she spent a few minutes giving a talk about "vivacious" tissues without notes she has some sort of mental capacity. Nope. She has the mental capacity of things which lie upside down in ponds and she isn't nearly as attractive as them either.

She embodies all that is contemptible about modern Britain, shallow, vain, ignorant, yobbish, stupid, graceless, charmless, witless, immoral, self-obsessed and repellent. At least Lucinda has some grace and style about her, even if she belongs in playpen rather than an office.

This is your opinion but the majority in this forum do appreciate that Claire is a clever charming business woman .

Well that is your opinion of the rest of the forum. Personally I have a higher opinion of it.
OK Then!!!

I love Claire really wanna see her do well, but I have to say I have been a Lucinda fan since day 1, so for me Lucinda has to win, if not then Clare would be great followed by Lee.

Alex and Helene are the two I don't wanna see win.

So in order to sell something for next to nothing in one day is good? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

It's useless and it's clear she got most of the deals from friends but was let off at the last minute because they couldn't prove this.

What a delightful rant.

I couldn't care less about how attractive she is or isn't, and anyway, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, etc etc. Her perceived attractiveness has sweet FA to do with her ability.

The fact is that both times she was project leader, claire brought home the bacon.

First of all I think people on the Apprentice are sales obsessed. Most business do not occur through direct sales but through creating clients and creating connections creating long term business.

A sale one day is for a basic salesman and you close the deal because there is a market for the product. It proves one thing and one thing alone that the product can sell - in this day and age.

The Wedding dresses and the cars sold themselves. The people who made the Wedding dresses and the Cars saw to that.

The intricate part is choosing a product and choosing how to get people for it. In this case, the boys did better. No doubt. In the Wedding task, Sir Alan chose the venue.

One thing I have never understood is what the hell is all this sales obsession about. Even the people who come on the show are sales obsessed when in fact creating a business takes more grit and determination.

Only Lucinda and Lee have shown they can create a model in a day and make it into something successful.

Claire has shown time and time again that she is incompetent at this and it makes me wonder what she is doing there but when you look at the production system on the show which is Big Brother esque, you get your answer.
