HIM
Must have been about 9 years since I "discovered" them and I could still listen to Razorblade Romance every single day. The 69 Eyes have also done some fab songs, mainly listen to Blessed Be or Paris Kills with the odd splattering of Devils

Another vote for Nightwish here!
I didn't know HIM were Finnish. I suppose that explains Ville Valo's name! I had always thought it was a rather random choice for a stage name. I suppose it could be a stage name anyway, but still... |

HIM are Finnish btw, though I find them too mainstream pop for my tastes.

Nightwish, The 69 Eyes, Apocalyptica... HIM are good also but I get put off by the overexposure that they recieve and the fact that my mates seem to think that Ville Valo is a walking God.
To be honest there are quite a lot of Symphonic Metal bands that I like but don't know the nationality of... I imagine quite a few of them are Finnish... or at least Scandinavian. |

I love Lordi and HIM in particular. My mate says Nightwish are very good.

From the bands listed there (as well as the ones I have already mentioned) I like Korpiklaani and Sonata Arctica... surprisingly very few. Many more that I mau have heard before and liked though. |

![]() As a teenage midlands metal kid I was really into Hanoi Rocks...I saw them live several times and, as the saying goes, "they kicked the whole ass"...proper debauched glam rock tomfoolery, it all went tits up when their drummer (Razzle, RIP) was killed in a car accident in L.A. (the car was driven by Vince Neil of Motley Crue who was, characteristically, over the limit)... (I like Apocalyptica too, a little out of the ordinary...their Metallica covers album is intermittently brilliant) Last edited by badnono : 05-06-2008 at 08:48. Reason: added bit about Apocalyptica |

I'll chuck in Tarja Turunen as well (ex-Nightwish).
Her solo album is something different. |
