Your ideal Jury next time?

We have had two Gay men, one girlie girl, one part time transvestite and a Lardy(dripping) Lord
Who would be your ideal Jurists..

Example- The Marquis of Bath, Grayson Perry(tranny potter) Bill Clinton and Sharon Stone.

The jury in my eyes depends on the show. If for example Phantom 2 was the next show then my choices would be:
1) ALW - of course!

2) John Barrowman - I know you either love or hate him but I think he is good at winding up Andrew

3) Michael Crawford - the original Phantom and a big name too!

4)Sarah Brightman - the original Christine and would be interested to see ALW's reaction to his ex-wife being on the same show

5) Plus a vocal coach so I think Zoe Tyler should come back - she was excellent at critiquing the singing irrespective of who the Lord was gunning for and would be another female on the panel.

Not quite fitting your Lord, 2 gays, girly girl etc. but a definite plus if this panel could be arranged.

BuddyBontheNet

And we'd all perform a big group number at the end of every show!!

A casting director and a vocal coach would be fantastic. And get rid of JB or DVO. They fill the same role, so one of them is redundant. Or failing that, all the Frannies and Larkabouts.

It would be interesting to have a casting director on there. Why not have David Grindrod, who has worked on all three ALW casting shows in the audition stages, be on the panel? They can add David, bring back Zoe Tyler, and keep John Barrowman because I think he's become a fixture on these shows and should stay instead of DVO. Also, I think a three-person panel (not including ALW) works better than a four-person panel because there isn't enough time on each show to allow 5 people (panel + ALW) to speak, as evidenced by ADWD. I think it worked better the way the had it on Maria and most of IDA (until CM joined the panel). So my ideal panel is:

John Barrowman
Zoe Tyler
David Grindrod
plus ALW, of course

We have had two Gay men, one girlie girl, one part time transvestite and a Lardy(dripping) Lord.

Start with the gay fellas. Should be easy. John Inman (RIP) would have been very kind. GN seems otherwise engaged. But what about a new host??? And Kenneth Williams. But as for living folk? Hm.

Girlie girl. I think B Windsor (a girl in spirit) would be constructive and supportive.

Transvestite (part-time). Eddie Izzard. Only because I think he's funny. He would never do it.

A Lord. What about a Baroness? Maggie Thatcher. Caustic.

Oh, I'm no good at this. I can only think of those Fame Academy couple (David and Thingy Grant??).

Alw. He has to be on the panel. Or the show wouldn't fit.

Simon Cowell, for the teeth. They could rope him into the BBC couldn't they.

The final Nancys. apart from Jodie because she'll be too busy.

The final Josephs.

And Charlie from big brother. Just for the pointless factor.
She knows ziltch about MT.

anyone that doesnt rely on a job by them two.........we need people who are impartial.......who wont bow to pressure.......or threat.....

Someone who knows what they're talking about would be a start. No DVO or JB thank you. Sorry to any who don't rate ALW or CM, but I think their input is necessary since they know the business more than others.

I think you need people who actually DO the job..not just arrange it....or pay for it. So the JB and DVO types are needed......

Too true. DVO and JB are only rated for their personalities and their looks and their celeb statis.
JB may be a good actor. But I don't think I'll ever be able to watch him on Doctor who or torchwood again without laughing.

They are not doing their jobs though. It's all an act, especialy for JB.
He wants to provoke a reaction. Comments like dead behind the eyes and such.
And he doesn't seem to notice when the vocals are bad.
It's alright if the singer is making the audience's ears bleed is it.

Sorry for being OTT.

Are you really not familiar with JBarrowman's career in musical theatre, or why his opinion on what's working/not working with a performance might be valid? He was certainly proven right in his opinions about the Josephs, his championing of Ben and Daniel borne out by how well both are now doing in the West End.

I think they are trying to be kind by not listing all the areas which require help......it would be too much. I think from Sams comment about the dead behind the eyes is exactly how most people who agreed with him would have said.

I think there was certainly some judges not telling the truth or not actually telling them anything productive. I think JB and DVO were the only two telling some of the performance issues. Some were very deaf to what we could hear.

Then you have to ask yourself.......why they not when it was clear to so many not in the profession ?

They have the experience from seeing it from the other side.....which ALW or CAM dont.........hes points are valid....if you like him or not is irrelivant........

Oh right. Cause he's had a breif career on the west end.
Big deal. He's as daft as anything.
I think he's dead behind the eyes.
I don't like or hate him. I don't know the guy. But he's way too big for his boots.
perhaps the show needs him.
But Simon Cowell should replace him.

he was two months into advising Jessie of what she needed to do.......she listened agreed changed for one song then reverted back......in the end Jessie was sittng or standing for her songs and barely any movement...even in her duet she was walking around.
When she was asking what she could do to get around him, JB was so frustrated that he actually rolled his eyes at DVO. I read that as " whats the point you dont listen".

He was never cruel to her, he always spoke about her performance.......her abilities to perform...nothing new, nothing that couldnt been seen......

I know from your posts you are a die-hard Jodie fan, but can you tell me when she did much movement on stage either? I'm not knocking Jodie at all here, but if you're going to pick on Jessie's lack of movement IMO she was equal to Jodie, if not better.

I thought she did brilliantly in her duets, both with Rachel and with Gwion. She was dancing. The movement wasn't akward, although I will agree it wasn't as natual as Rachel's.
She did revert back on a few occassions.
But JB, wasn't very nice to her. Especialy in the final.
There wasn't any need to reflect on her past performences like he did. She was told to do that song sitting down, probabably. He knows what Jessie's like, she'll argue back and make a fool of herself. I agree it's her own fault. But JB was cruel to her. There is no doubt in my mind that he wanted to prevoke a reaction.

He had nothing but praise for Sam and Jodie. Although I thought that Sam's vocals were a bit off.

Agreed. So much. I won't say what I think, because Casper will attack me.
