During the later stages of Britains Got Talent, there was a piece of dramatic orchestral music played as background to a montage of the contestants. It was a pounding and stirring piece. Think it may possibly have been from a film soundtrack or score. It was not the Lord Of The Rings Piece - Requiem For A Tower. It was something else. Anyone know ?

It may well have been Lux Aeterna by Clint Mansell?

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately, I don't think that is the piece of music in question - just checked on Youtube.

I'm convinced the music is taken from a film score. It could be something by Hans Zimmer or Harry Gregson Williams. It is a fast paced, pulsating piece of dramatic music, the type of thing you are likely to hear in a thriller.

Again, thanks.

Thanks. That piece is heard quite frequently in both X - Factor and Britains Got Talent. The piece is called " Lux Aeterna " by Clint Mansell ( as quoted by FormulaV ) above.

The piece I am referring to was heard only once by myself - in the final of Britains Got Talent. It was as described above. I think I'm going to struggle on this one. Thanks anyway.

Perhaps there is a clip of the final on youtube where the music is playing? Someone might recognise it.

At what point was it played? I'll have a listen to the clip for you.

I think it must have been somewhere towards the end of the final of BGT. I think they were taking another brief look at all of the contestants. The music in question was playing in the background to build up the drama I assume.

Thanks for your imput.

Ah, found it, I think - Orchestral score with a choir in the background? Quite histrionic?

I'm afraid that i'm not sure what it is but you can hear it about ten minutes into the results show if anyone else wants to take a listen.

The only dramatic pieces I can remember are the ones that have been mentioned, all the Requiem for a Dream remixes, and also music by a guy called Craig Armstrong, tracks O Verona, or Escape to Mantua maybe?

Can hear one of the pieces 'O Verona' here, it starts once the names come up to introduce the characters. Starts about 1.35 time:

If it's not that, does someone have a link to the clip the poster is on about?

Does anyone happen to know what the theme tune is for BGT? Also, is the little tune/jungle that is played after each contestant has finished a variation of the main theme?

It sounds like the type of music used in film trailers by people like Immediate Music, they do a lot of music like that. I don't know the piece but if you look up their music and go through any stuff you can find you might find it. Try E.S Posthumas, and X-Ray Dog(think this is one) also, do the same kind of trailer stuff.

Is this the music, the topic starter meant? did topic starter find out the music?

Oh right. Thanks. Ugh, I hate the idea of having to wade through a load of media though. ANYONE out there know what it is?

Just stumbled on this thread... The piece is called Lux Aeterna by Clint Mansell and it is the theme from the film Requiem for a Dream. Better late than never

The piece of music you want is based on Lux Aeterna, but was composed as the trailer for Lord of the Rings the Two Towers and is called Requiem for a Tower and was made by Corner Stone Cues.

Hope this helps....

Think I may have it on my computer from comments of a you tube video of the show. Might be wrong one but I'll look when next on computer.

Is anyone able to recognise the dramatic Hans Zimmer style background music played in the BGT results show tonight(May 10th, 2012), around midway through when all of the contestants were being reviewed and discussed?

Infact, it has been played on all of the BGT results shows so far at around the same point in the show. I thought it might be from the film soundtrack of the film Inception scored by Hans Zimmer - but I'm not too sure. Any ideas? It'll be repeated at 10.30pm on ITV+1 tonight if anyone can help.

It's the bit in the results show where the contestants explain what it means to them to win BGT.
