Don't get me wrong I like Lucinda as a person & would ask this question to other candidates but why the uproar?.
She is without doubt clever, good looking but she did not think the job is right.
So my question is, if she thought she was not right for the job then did Sir Alan have a choice?

Out of the final five she was the only one who had the best track record than all four of the others combined.

I think this year more than any previous series we've so many underhanded methods used by the candidates that it stopped being a programme about finding the best candidate and more about "good triumphing over evil". I expect the candidates to be competitive and for a few to crack under pressure. However, this lot have proved themselves to be (for the most part) a bunch of incompetent lying back stabbers who couldn't organise a p' up in a brewery.

If Lucinda had been in series one I doubt her firing would have raised more than two threads.

I wanted her in the final as a viewer but if I were SAS I woul dof fired her arse a long long time ago

I doubt that too but she's extremely good at what she does and if she is in other series' of the apprentice then we would have seen more of her and it would have made for more interesting viewing.

Because she's worth it!

She was a good project manager but almost every week she wasn't she clashed with people, rightly or wrongly. In the photography task she kept on whinging about "not being able to use computers" when she should have just knuckled down to the task and got on with it, ditto for the car task she whinged about "not being able to sell things". I don't think she was worthy of being in the final, although there are a few in the final who should not be.

Two or three of those remaining are either dim, invisible or untrustworthy. Lucinda might be too zany for the job but she would have been good at the last task and she isn't ruled out by their fatal flaws.

Because she was up against 4 very incompetent and dislikeable candidates.

At the end my problem with Lucinda was that she thought she was better than the others unlike James Max in series one. She was great as PM but even the rare time she was on the boardroom she mentioned that Helene said that Jenny was a snake. She was of course but why bring that up in the BR as it made her look childish.

And we seem to be losing the point that this is 'The Aprentice' & not mastermind or the crypton factor.
OK maybe she never stood a chance but I said before Sir Alan had little choice.

Also I would not blame Simon if he wanted to punch Claire in the face but at least he was decent & waited unlike Lucinda who just left.
Also we have to remember Nick & Margaret who followed the teams & their imput.
I know she is popular & I liked her for most of the series but some people seem to think that nobody should question her judgement as everybody else is thick & whatever.

I hope that you are not in management in real life!

she was one fo the few who could actually lead a team. she may not have been gobby and she may not have been desperate to lick arse, but she actually knew how to manage.


if you would fire her, then you are either in a business that does not require real leadership, or some kind of BS job.

Lucinda was a good team leader, had an excellent track record in the tasks (whats the point in doing them if you're going to ignore the win/loss record?) and she was already on a very high salary, proving her capabilities in the buisness world.

No, she's not perfect, not the best team player (but underhanded Alex and Clare, and aggressive Helene and Lee are hardly shining examples of this), and probably wouldn't fit into the role of the apprentice. However she deserved to be in the final on merit because of how she has performed in the tasks.

In the end, Lucinda wasn't right for the job, she was probably too good for it. However she deserved a place in the final over Alex and Helene who have done little at all to prove why they should be there.

By the time she got into the boardroom, she had changed her mind about the job not being right for her. Then she changed her mind right back again once she was fired. So yes, SAS did have the choice not to fire her.

Should he have fired her? Absolutely. Of all the things Lucinda couldn't do, she couldn't be managed. She never has been managed and it showed. Unless SAS was going to hand over his company to her, as was vacuously suggested by the comic on YF, there really was no place for her in his organisation where she could play to her strengths of being in charge.
