Sir Alan's boardroom "receptionist", also returns. Frances is in fact played by Sam Moon, who works for producers TalkbackTHAMES.

Don't you live reality tv, eh! About as 'real' as a charitable traffic warden.

Interesting observation, but your 4 years late on it !!

You do realise also that numerous takes and re-takes are done, especially in the boardroom, to get things just right. anyone who does'nt realise this is sadly mistaken.

It was mentiond in an interview. Sam works forthe production company. His real PA is called Frances and he was supposed to call her Sam but kept getting her name wrong - so rather than constantly retake she became Frances for the series. Not really a case of Faking It on TV

One wonders why his real secretary can't do it.

Not the most demanding acting job in the world...

I wonder how much she gets paid?
Do you think there could be a vacancy soon?
I believe I have the appropriate skill set:
"Sir Alan will see you now".
"Certainly Sir Alan".
"You can go through to the boardroom now".
"Do one, Wotherspoon"

Exactly. Which is what all good PAs/Office Managers actually do.

Can you tell what I do for a living?

I don't think the story of SAS calling all his receptionists "Francis" was ever true based on the fact in the first two series, the receptionist was referred to as "Jenny".

I understood it to be simply that she didn't want to appear on TV. Even Margaret has said she struggles with being recognised everywhere now. There was an article on 'The Real Frances' in a newspaper a while back and she was pictured, but I think she was quoted as saying that as a lady of a certain age and occupation, she didn't want to be on TV. Can't blame her really.

And I don't know why we have to pretence that events happen over 10 weeks (or whatever). Most people know the finalists usually work for suralan for some months before he chooses. Though God help his regular staff if those four have been in his offices for the last few months!!

Michael's an actor. Perhaps Suralan will hire him as secretary?

He'd be a good camp P.A. - he has enough experience running after people!

They must be actors then. They do the high voice well.

Has Frances dyed her hair blonde this year? I'm pretty sure she had brown hair in the last series.
