Really useful tips, some from one of SAS's 'attack rottweilers' and touching on the blunders by each of the four finalists.

Although they're not anything to go by are they? Lee made three classic mistakes, his spelling on his CV was appalling, he got caught out in a lie and he made an absolute fool of himself with the dinosaur impression. And yet he's still bloody there!!

Good points PamelaL.

I get that Lee is dyslexic, but why didn't he get someone else to proof read his CV, or put it through a MS word spell check? Aren't these very basic things to do? My spelling's good, but I'd never submit a CV without doing a spell check.

Yes, that is a very good point. On the other hand, at that stage of the game, Sugar needed 4 people in the final. Out of Grumpy, Frumpy and Numpty, Zany stood no chance.

Yes the comments underneath are amusing as well.

Some of those comments make me laugh. No competant interviewer is going to believe you if you say that your weakness is being a 'perfectionist' or 'workoholic'

The weakness question is always where you did a hole for yourself. You should research before hand and pick weaknesses that have no relevance to the position you are applying for. e.g. if the the role is a lower level position that does not require you to manage or give work to others - say that delegating is a weakness because it doesn't matter. If its a telesales job say that presenting face to face to large groups is a weakness because you won't be expected to do it.

Having said that - There's too much focus in that article of the aggressive interview technique. An interview should be treated like a business meeting, not an interrogation and if I turned up to an interview and got that Paul bloke I'd have walked away.

I agree...I was actually quite p***ed off at this week episode... 3 men given the brief to be as rude as possible and one woman who was given the brief of getting to the heart of the candidates....ridiculous!

Isn't it important to remember that the interview is also the first real indication of the working environment in the company for the interviewee.....If I turned up at an interview and that was how the company presented themselves to me...... I'd have a had serious doubts about wanting to work there...... Yet another reason not to apply next year then

There's a quote from the article...
"It is legitimate to put people under a certain amount of pressure. There is a line over which it is difficult to see the validity and usefulness of crossing."

And I really agree with that. In a real life situation if a company went beyond "legitmate" pressure, alarm bells would be ringing in my head....aprt from anything else it's extremely disrespectful.
