Yes and then there is the real world.

In the real world you don't want to have to spend days trying to coax someone into doing something. You want people who will enthusiasticly turn their hand to any challange. Lucinda showed that she did not have that skill.

I would not have hired her, though I thought she did have many skills, none were appropriate for the apprentice.

in the real world, you don't suddenly decide to send managers out into the streets to sell. or expect sales people to be good at managing (other than other sales people).

her skill set might be exactly what SAS needs for the role of apprentice, but not what he likes.

the tasks are very sales-related, yet the job is to be a manager.

i think Lucinda kept fairly cool despite the circumstances and I don't think her deficiencies outweigh her talents.

if I wanted a salesman, I'd pick Claire, Alex or Lee - if I wanted a manager, I'd pick Lucinda. if i wanted an administrator, I'd pick Helene*

* is that what she can do?

There in lies the problem, you can have someone who is capable but doesn't fit into the way you work.

It was clear she couldn't work unless she was in charge. She isn't going to be in charge of The sugar empire so would always have been at odds with others.

this will be unpopular but sometimes people are picked on and critisized because they deserve it. In a lot of cases the critisizm aimed at Lucinda was valid and accurate.

Lucinda is fab!!!!!
I think she is better off out of SAS organisation as it wouldn't have been her. Can't see how she would be happy working in such a stale environment.
Lucinda is a legend and has made this series of The Apprentice watchable. I wish her loads of luck and sucess in her very bright future.....

But when she was project manager, she still wasn't "in charge" as such, she was still being managed by Sir Alan as it was him setting them the task. This is no different to how it will be for whoever ends up winning. I think I'm right in saying that Simon from last year (who robbed Kristina of victory if you ask me) is now running Sir Alan's health farm business or something similar - he's the project manager of that, if you will.

Definitely gutted that Lucinda hasn't made it to the final, and I think that the applause that she got on You're Fired shows that a lot of people think the same. Everybody I know was rooting for her. She is a class act, and I sincerely hope that this isn't the last we see of her.

that's not entirely correct - people below the very top can be 'in charge' - they know their criteria and lead their team. you'd think that would be the level of autonomy that The Apprentice would be given, not stuck under somebody who didn't know their job.

We only see part of the footage and whilst they show Lucinda getting frustrated and moaning on some occasions, how can we be sure that was not a small proportion of her behaviour?

What I've learnt about Lucinda and Sir Alan is she was clearly a much better candidate than the job Sir Alan was offering.
He called her zany – I think he didn't understand her.
Here's hoping she goes on to do bigger and brighter things and no doubt she will.

Thought Lucinda was lovely and certainly the most cerebral - definitely the most interesting and memorable.

Strange that this year being nice hasn't paid off, with Lucinda, Raef and Simon all fired, when in previous years, the 'nice one' has won (Tim, Michelle).

However, it is clear that Lucinda's was a different victory, leaving the competition with her pride in tact and having not compromised her integrity (unlike SOME people eg. most of the other candidates).

She'll undoubtedly excel in whatever she chooses to do next and will probably be better off not working in sralan's austere office with a (probably) sales-based position anyway.

Also, it's worth remembering that Lucinda did not just stand out as PM but got numerous mentions from Nick/Margaret, such as in the Marrakech task - this amongst other things was overlooked by SAS and anti-LL posters.

At the end of the day, it just seemed she wasn't suited to what sralan had mind, but would walk into most strategic/management jobs.

Oh and Lucinda, if you read this, how's about starting up a beret chain?

Who else would work on a £100,000 salary and drive a scooter?

Lucinda is a legend.

Lucidna was by far my favourite contestant this year (and I love her hats ) I don't think that working for Sir Alan was right for her - she's a natural leader and wouldn't really have fitted into the organisation I thought she came across really well on 'You're Fired!'

Thought Lucinda was a lovely and memorable candidate, subverting the conventions of women in business through her appearance and attitudes.

She shone and certainly brightened up the show this year.

Nothing like the applause Raef got though. Also not many green cards held up for Lucinda but Raef had the red sea surround him

Lucinda was far and away the most intelligent and nicest candidate this year. I thought she was great and she certainly stood up to all the other horrible people in the show. The only other people that were as nice as her were Raef and Simon.

Lucinda you deserve to do so well in the business world. You are also very stylish. I loved your berets and also your flower accessories in your hair and the colours that you wore each week.

Good on you for being nice but above all being an individual not a sheep or a 24 year old snake in the grass - wonder who I am talking about !!!

Go Lucinda xx

Could it be you - I do recall you posting that you are 'only 24.'

Lucinda, you were a great candidate who should of won but I think you were almost "too nice" for Sir Alan.
I love your great fashion sense - thank you for bringing some colour to the apprentice.

Good luck with your future ambitions - the final will not be the same without you,

Thanks for posting... it's been a while since I've seen any new Lucinda articles, but that's a brilliant one.

Love how she managed to blag a load of stuff like the use of a car and free cinema tickets by 'helping out' her mates

I still have no idea how she only managed to spend £16.95 on shopping for the week!
