Drity Pretty Things Front man Caral has slammed British music for being dull and lifeless.

He trashes Nu Rave by calling it is boring as it sounds and look s#it as the bands themself the Klacksons what crap.

He blasted Mark Ronson for being boring like his music.

And slams The Cribs for being to arty and farty for him and Kate Nash for being old fashion and crap and out of touch.

Bloody hell - his new song is crap and his last album was poor compared to his previous output with the Libertines so he's not got much room to talk.

I agree with him that British music is garbage nowadays. There are too many bands like The Kooks, The Fray, The Cribs, The Klaxons, The Lines, The Courteeners... I could go on and on, and they all sound the same. I've played in a band myself and the stuff they produce takes very little talent to play. There are a few diamonds in the rough, like The Ting-Tings, and as usual NME are pushing them to the moon as the new saviours of music. What a load of crap.

Just learn a few chords, make your hair really messy, buy a "kooky" jacket from Topman, and away you go. THE NAME!!!

Carl's band isn't the best either but for the most part they are alright.

In 2001/2 we had similar amounts of "The The" bands - but at least most of them had their own style and sound.

That is possibly the greatest statement to ever grace the DS forums, I completely agree mate.

It would help if all the bands they mentioned were actually British

I was gonna say...

I like Klaxons. I don't think british music isthat bad at the moment. So many of our artists are doing well in America, we're starting to get back our status in the music industry, after years of America having better artists, and dominating our charts.

If at first you don't succeed... slag off other bands!

I think British music is a bit mixed at the moment. The indie stuff you hear in clubs and on the radio us usually pretty dull and lifeless, but there's other stuff out there. Shame it's not dead popular but that's way of the music world.

I am really sick of tight shirt and skinny tie wearing indie kid bands.

First of all I thought The Fray were American unless I'm mistaken. The Cribs sound nothing like The Kooks. I've not had the pleasure of hearing the The Lines or The Courteeners so can't comment on them. Klaxons sound like nothing like any of those bands you've mentioned.

British music is not garbage and I can prove it. Check this band out. The most obvious comparison would be the Klaxons, but I think these are better and they are fusing dance beats and rock so effortlessly. Outstanding and also quite an apt band name i think, so does it?

I am listening to their album right now, and it's great stuff. Doesn't Offend Me, Tom

It's a load of rubbish and these sort of comments always come about when current trends become tired. The mainstream media certainly don't help by playing the same thing 24/7 but there's never a shortage of quality music bubbling under the surface, if not on the radio. You just have to want to look for it.

Having Pete in The Libertines won't have changed anything or done him any good. Pete would have continued to be a drug user and his absence from gigs would have frustrated fans to no end.
