I'm going camping for a week in July with my husband, his brother and partner. Usually when we go camping we have a BBQ one night, fish and chips another then eat out the rest of the time.
This year though money is tight and we now have 2 dogs which rules out going to eat in places so I am looking for ideas on what to cook.
My brother in law is very fussy so will probably just cook for 2 of us, we have a double burner stove.
Thanks in advance

We used to take lots of dried food and a few jars of sauces in case we were out in the stcks miles from a shop or just did not feel like shopping on any particular day.

Cereal, pasta, savoury rice, Vesta ready meals. Chow Mien, Prawn Curry.... you get the picture.
Take herbs and spices and be creative.

With frozen stuff - frozen milk, juice and chicken legs and theyve kept for 4 days. you could always take a trip to the supermarket while your there? or ou could get one of those cool box fridges that plugs into your car?

We have a mini fridge that we take and go to a local supermarket.

Fill the fridge up, and buy lots that's fine to just be stored (crisps, bread, cakes, biscuits, etc).

is that coz no one buys them!?

ive seen them before in a camping shop and I dont go mountain climbing in which case theyd be useful. If i go camping its either at festivals or in the countryside (which is usually no more than 20 minutes drive to get supplies first thing on a morning before cracking open a beer!)

oh i so wanna go camping!

A favourite of ours when camping was 'Camp Stew'. One tin each of stewed beef, peas, carrots, potatoes all in a saucepan with an Oxo or two. Heat and serve with nice crusty bread. Luvverly

You can't beat a few tins of beans (sausages optional!) and a loaf of bread for good old beans on toast.

Where we camp it is a farmers field and he lets us use his fridge which is handy for milk cheese etc and hubbys insulin. We tend to bring a load of thing like cheese bread etc with us and shop early in the morning then sit outside the tent for the rest of the day with a few cold tins and lots to read.Happy days.
