Problem with EPG
grilli

I keep finding that the EPG on my PVR 160 doesnt hold more than 12 hours information. is this due to the signal strength?

Mine can be slow to load (it's a twin-record upgraded machine)... if I wait I get about 4-5 days worth, sometimes scrolling to the right helps to fill it up quicker. It's a price I'm prepared to pay.

Has it always been short-changing you or is that a recent development?

You could try updating to the v5.6 software, if you haven't already - that might help. I had the same issue with my PVR80, and that was one of the reasons it went back to Argos. I'm afraid all the T810 based PVRs have this issue, although I'm sure the EPG worked pretty well when they first came out around 2 years ago. The newer T816 and T825 models do not suffer from this problem.

After obtaining the correct v5.6 file, I've now loaded this firmware onto my PVR 80. It went smoothly with no problems; the process didn't erase my Library recordings, Timer programming or even the box's user settings.

I've not noticed any deterioration in HDDR's operation; if there's been any change, the EPG is quicker to populate, esp. beyond 3 days ahead. I have employed the technique of deleting from the tuning memory, unwanted channels, so as to preserve RAM - so that may be an alternative explanation!

The EPG information populates most quickly for channels broadcast on the mux which was being viewed when Guide is pressed. So, to view EPG info for ITV channels ASAP, view channel 3, 6, 10 or 28 immediately beforehand!

Regards
