I think it was a lovely interview, she comes over very young. I was a bit disappointed that Cam or ALW does not seem to have been in touch or arranged something for her. If ALW thinks she is world class you would think he would be nurturing her. Seems she is on her own. I do hope they dont do that to her.

I didnt like her dess tho they always seem either not short enough or not long enough. But loved her story about the discount shoes....lol lol

i do think she did say it was a thrill to have their backing and would almost take that over winning but she has to move to London to learn. She said "not yet" to the question of them contacting her i believe. it is early days yet, they probably will.

I still feel the best decision was made. Jodie for Nancy and Jessie, having learned an amazing amount, to be free to explore other options.

I believe there is more out there for Jessie. I don't know what it is but it's the way I feel.

well, it is a good stepping stone part, and don't forget a lot of well known actresses have played this part so it isn't really not a step down to anyone who plays it. i know it is not a huge lead role, but she would have learned with it.

i really understood what she said about the drama school audition she failed at the day she went to IDA pre auditions. fm, jackbauer (who i enjoy) or someone seemed to suggest that if she was good she would have gotten in. in London, actors come from all over and there are so many that come and they are really a dime a dozen, so to not get in does not mean you are awful perse, although it seems so at the time. i don't know how many she was up against but they only have so much room and it didn't mean she didn't have the approval of at least one teacher who was judging. i really know what i am talking about here. it is a tough, tough thing to get into a good school, especially in a huge city. some greats didn't get into drama school either and some big stars just got lucky breaks. it isn't always the be all and end all to go to uni for arts or drama schcool.

I believe it took Judi Dench something like 6 attempts to get into drama school..!

I also mentioned earlier that one of the schools Jessie applied to contacted her a week later saying they'd made a mistake which is beyond unusual.

Funny you should draw attention to this, because it has been bugging me for some time now. The word 'legend' has been bandied about so much, I can't take it seriously any more. I can only use it in an ironic way. So, I would describe someone like Michael Sophocles from The Apprentice as a 'legend', not someone of actual legendary status. This really struck me when my 18 year old cousin was talking about Archbishop Tutu and he called him 'a total leg'. And I thought that totally undermined him, because the word is used so indiscriminatorily (if that is indeed a word)

Caspy, I'm Irish and I certainly hadn't heard of Jessie's mum. I'd say she might be well known within the traditional music community, but she's worlds away from being properly famous. I wouldn't read too much into the Bush thing. Big wig Americans are always inviting Irish people over there to do cultural 'irishy' things. When I was in school, this kid a few years younger than me was invited over to sing for Bill Clinton.
