Well done! Kowalczyk is his name - for the unitiated he played the waiter in Fight club who serves Ed Norton & Helena BC, -about the most exposure he has had in this country even though his band are much much better than the likes of Oasis, Robbie Williams, and all the other over-hyped, over-exposed alleged "superstars.

I think that Elbow are the most underrated band in the UK. Asleep in the Back is one of the best albums of the past 5 years, and the new record is rumoured to be even better.

REM are my fave band that are still going (and have been for over 10 years) the band I previously mentioned - Live are heavily inspired by REM and this is aknowledged on their first album where they give thanks to Michael Stipe. As whether REM are underrated I don't know, considering they are all millionaires, signed a then world record album deal, and nearly every album goes straight in at No.1 I think they probably have the success they deserve - I suppose the only injustice is that much inferior bands have the same success. Bon Jovi take a bow.

REM are still one of the biggest bands in the world, up there with U2 and... uh... yeah, U2.
They've sold hundreds of millions of records and have one of the most enigmatic and iconic lead singers in modern music. Underrated? PUH-LEASE. The most underrated band around is Sparklehorse (though technically not a band). While bands like Grandaddy, Pavement and the Flaming Lips have made a relatively big impact, Sparklehorse have made three truly outstanding albums (the third with contributions from Tom Waits, PJ Harvey and Nina from the Cardigans) yet still remain virtually unknown. Now that's injustice. Coincidentally... who is supporting REM on their current US tour? You got it... SPARKLEHORSE. |

MOIST - so crimally underrated here that I have to get their stuff from the US and Canada
Just received from amazon.ca the Canadian version of their last album (differant listing to the US version that I have) Also got a best of cd that includes 4 rare tracks plus a bonus cd with another 6 previously unreleased tracks. Also got a DVD of all their videos (I think I've only ever seen one on MTV years ago)! Not bad for about £35 including shipping!
