Are any of the final four REALLY worth £100k a year?
Mulett

I know everyone here will have a favourite to win this year's series (as have I). But does anyone else feel that none of the final four is really worth a £100k a year?

I used to work in the city, and when I think of the people I knew who were on a six-figure salary, none of the final four are in that league.

Claire is (for me) the best of the bunch, but the idea that she is deserving of that sort of salary seems a little ridiculous.

I'm not trying to start a huge row (honest). I'm just expressing an opinion that none of the final four, and possibly none of the candidates at all this year, were really deserving of such a huge salary.

I dont think from watching an edited program that airs each week for an hour you can really decide whether any of the people are worth 100k a year, I suppose that in their "day jobs" they earn big money for a reason.

Claire is deffinatly the only outstanding candidate in my opinion this year, with Lucinda and Raef being respectable choices as well.

Out of the final 4, I think Claire is the most capable. I think she's actually pretty average when you compare her to some of the finalists from other years, but in the context of this years final, I think she has the most potential. I'm not sure I like her, but I do think she deserves to win out of those remaining.

If you compared this lot to the series 1 lot these 4 would have barely got on the show let alone the final! Tim, Saira, James, Miriam even Paul were premiership these guys are Vauxhall conference!

Besides if it's anything like the first series it's only 100k for the first year (wouldn't be surprised if the BBC put some into it) Tim was going to get a lower paid contract after that as Sugar didn't think he was worth that much yet, and he was a great apprentice!

Well I beleave Claire was on 85k a year & on top of that a bonus of 24k.

I think Clare is and so is Alex - they have both seen how much they can sell

Based on what we see aired, remembering we only see 40 minutes of 180 hours filming each week I think most of the finalists are okay. The only one I am not sure about is Helene

Lee only one worth employing

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lee is the only one I can imagine bringing anything to a company, he is positive in all the tasks, remains forever focused on the profit and is great for keeping up the moral of his fellow teammates, but is not shy of getting tough when required. I would hire him in a second after seeing him on the show.

Claire has always held back a bit when she sees something going wrong just saying enough to be able to defend herself in the boardroom but ultimately enjoying the failure of others. Sneaky and disruptive I think a leopard doesn't change it's spots.

Alex -snake eyes - talk about slippery he would just undermine everybody and drop them in it to better himself,
loved it when Margaret told him he backed off so far he was practically out of the room!

Helene - gobshite - well it says it all really, that sort of aggressive I've got more balls than a man attitude and no respect for anyone else, she's my idea of a nightmare employee - it wouldn't be team building, but team destroying if she got the job.

Love Suzie info - would be great to hear more - the two being employed sound plausible especially if Karen Brady comes in to take Claire

interesting point - I met a guy on £140k the other day and TBH, he didn't appear very numerate. most of the people on >£100k salaries who I have known have been reasonably smart - I can't see Alex or Lee being in that league. Claire isn't either but she's the most suitable of the 3.

Raef could have BS'd his way to £100k, Saira could earn it through hard work and Lucinda organised well for it.

Me? I think I'll offer to take a £99k fee to be a consultant to the programme...

An apprentice is someone who is learning their trade and you don't pay them £100,000 a year. Someone on that salary is going to be occupying a senior position in Siralan's company. I just can't see Alex or Lee managing a senior post.

Claire and Helene maybe but how long before they've annoyed everybody in sight?
