Heres the e-mail I got from them!

It is with great disappointment that the Prince concert scheduled to take place at Croke Park next Monday the 16 June 2008 will no longer be taking place due to reasons beyond the control of Prince and MCD Productions.

While plans are underway to try and reschedule the concert for 2009, no details are confirmed at this stage thus ticket holders can obtain a full ticket refund including booking fee from their Ticketmaster point of purchase from 09:00 on Friday 13 June 2008.

Customers who purchased their tickets from an outlet can obtain a refund by returning their tickets to the point of purchase from 09:00 on Friday 13 June 2008.

For customers who purchased their tickets via phone or Internet, refunds will be issued to your credit card and should appear within the next five working days.

MCD and Prince wish to apologise for the inconvenience caused to the 55,161 patrons who purchased tickets to Croke Park, their customers and all the individuals who have worked tirelessly to bring the show to Dublin.

Best Regards

Customer Services Team.

No idea but Prince is getting lynched on the org

I think cancelling 6 days before the gig is a bit off tho.

You'd think they would have said given the circumstances, I feel sorry for the poor buggers who paid out on Ebay for tickets.

omg..im not a fan but people thought westlife would never have been able to cancel their gig..they were ill a couple of weeks before and had to postpone a weeks worth of gigs. i never thought they could postpone a gig at croke. most people going probably don't live in ireland.

Plus I feel sorry for all the fans from around the world, who have paid for flights and lodging!! I know a few US fans who had planned on flying over to Dublin from the US for that gig!! U can get refunds for the actual concert from various ticket agencies, like Ticketmaster, but you cant cancel flights and lodging(if obtained as a package), without forfeiting what you have paid!!! And now in this time of economic crisis, that is a hell of a lot to lose!!!!

From what I have read into this, Prince doesnt think that 55,000+ tickets sold is financially viable enough to do the gig!!! What a MFer!!!!!!!!

he obviously doesn't think much about croke either. it's amazing for any artist to play there!!

We're hearing a possible re-shedule for 2009. Again there are rumours flying round all over the place atm...another is that P's hip has given out

Well it isnt a licence issue. Dublin City council issued a licence last Friday for the concert.

According to RTE the promoters and prince expected to sell 82,000 tickets within hours of general release. However only selling 50,000+ tickets 6 days or so befor the concert would mean that apart from money the stadium would have also looked pretty damn empty!

Add to the fact that there are also hundreds of tickets for sale on ebay.

I think they were being pretty hopeful of filling a stadium such as croke in the forst place and cant understand why they didnt pick a smaller venue.

I doubt we will see him in Ireland during 2009, just a tactic to keep some face!

oh no!! thats terrible

i was at the westlife concert in croke park last sunday it was completely sold out to over 82,000 people and they sold it out within a week!!!
Westlife only postponed 3 arena tour dates which have now all been organised again for sometime in june.

I tried for prince tickets last week asnd was still able to purchase really good seats, i think its been cancelled due to it not selling out.

I really hope he hasn't cancelled due to ticket sales, it is scandalous if he has.

presumably because he's only realised that?

and presumably this is the same Mfer who did his shows last year at the O2 for £31?

so anyway - what have you read?

I hope he has good reason for this.

He can be right selfish and stubborn **** when he wants to be.

I personally have vowed not to spend any money on him again, for various reasons.

Has he got any other shows scheduled around the World or is it just this one?
