It seemed during the final task, Alex was already trying to stitch up Helene so if they won the task it would help him become The Apprentice as he would make he try to make her look as bad as possible in the boardroom and blame everything on her.

The one thing you can't accuse Alex of is inconsistency - he had his modus operandi and he stuck to it throughout.

Yeah. I thought the same.

well, to be fair they were both about as bad as each other on that score, but since their lack of team work is part of the reasons they ultimately lost the task, then it's all good...

I thought the moment that most showed Alex in a bad light was his attempts to claim credit for the bottle design before gradually back tracking on it.

Oh come on, Helene was useless. She was so negative throughout the task and then only during the presentation did she contribute giving them a glimmer of hope at winning. If Alex had been partnered with Claire or Lee, his teamwork skills would have been much better.

Alex - yuk. I actually though Adrian Chiles was nicer to him than he deserved.

24 year old Alex being fired was my favorite moment last night. Sadly I don't think we have seen the last of him.

Good salesman, vain, can't take criticism, overly defensive, and as Victoria Wood said, 'huffy'.

That wouldn't have been a stitch up. That would have been the truth.

I agree amazingly Helene managed to seemingly do nothing yet again even in the final, maybe the editing isnt doing her justice i know she was the one that desinged the fragrance but still she didnt keep her cool under pressure.

ALex was more cool and maybe a Good TV ad in my mind and had a good concept but he was totaly lead by the designers when it came to making the bottle and ultimatly they forgot they only had £30 to play with a Markup to be made.

I don't think she didn't do anything, I think that, unlike Alex, she didn't seem to be able to claim the credit for the good work she had done. The fragrance itself was by far the best bit of their product. The perfume guy was so complimentary about it. When it came up in the boardroom I was like 'Helene, go for it, fight for the credit, because you did that entirely by yourself'. But she never seemed to push herself forward like that. If Alex had designed the scent, he'd have been in there, lapping up whatever credit Sir Alan was handing out.

/agree

I think everytime Alex did somthing right he made sure eveyone knew about it but i would sooner see people comment on what they did right and there Strenghs then what others did wrong.

Regarding the Fragrance it was received positively but i think it was also noted in the Boardroom that there was some similarities to the Angel Brand which uses a Chocolate and Caramel aroma.

I thought Alex got off quite lightly on YF, noone seemed to bring up the fact that he undermined every manager he worked for, he used to sit back and let them unravel and contribute nothing.
I will not be sorry to see the back of him and his snidey little faces.

It's interesting as well that the rest of team (well apart from Raef) seemed to be very negative towards Helene as well.

Also I remember how well Lucinda and Lee got on until there was only them two and Alex on the team.

Does Alex turn people against others behind the scenes?

Much, much nicer. Helene was miserable and moody, but I don't think she was as evil as certain people have claimed (perhaps due to their hero-like worship of Lucinda). Alex was deliberately deceitful right from the beginning, but he got away with it most of the time because of his looks and supposed charm. If this series has taught us anything, it's that women are most definitely as shallow as men are when it comes to looks. Alex isn't unattractive, but his personality would make him very unattractive to me.

Alex merely seemed to sit tight throughout the entire series, doing very little that can be considered 'good' but managing to subtly pin the blame on just about everyone else, retaining his own position. Though he wasn't too 'long in the tooth' he was a decent salesman - but, ultimately, useless.

one thing i dont get is when ive seen alex on the final five and you're fired, his lips are kind of faded..a beigey colour....and yet on the show he had bright pink lips all the time. was he wearing lipstick or was it the lighting?
