Lee would have had to have signed honesty clause

If you apply for any job or postition you have to sign that it is honest and you are required to give your signature on this.

Doesnt it invalidate his application?

Could he fake his signature?

When asked about the 'CV lie' on YBH Sir Alan said he didn't care about it.

No he didn't. He wasn't happy about it, but indicated that he could overlook it in light of the 12 weeks as a whole.

I've never had to sign one

Did he have to sign a sanity clause?

Don't be silly, there's no such thing as sanity clause.

Only if it was a standard application form. If you submit a CV then there is no clause

It was when the Marx Brothers did it. It does need an Italian accent to work properly, I'll give you that.

Employer's discretion.

I've never heard of anyone having to sign either.

Sr'Alan owns the company. The final decision is with him.

It is on the application form and every candidate must sign it.

It probably appeals to Sr'Alans "duck and dive" ethos.
And... it is his company. He can employ anyone he wishes to employ.

At the Company's discretion.

Hence, if Suralan doesn't care, that's the end of the matter.

Yes understood

Not good PR for the comapny though

Sir Alan might OK it but it is not good when even the Prime Minister has said it is not the way to do things.

Can't fault you there!

I agree it's not a great way to go about things - I was just saying.

It's a tv programme - surely our elected government should concern themselves with more serious issues!!!

Actually, Sir Alan is some sort of enterprise advisory to the government so I think the government do very well to concern themselves over it! I don't think he ought to be, given the example he sets in his dealings with recruitment and employees unless the government want to align themselves not just with taking more from the poor to give to the better off as they already have done, but with the bigotry, prejudice, dishonesty and bullying that SAS seems to think is only natural in business. Perhaps it is, but the government should be setting an example for change.

Time to give Branson a chance, I think! I've no idea if he would be any better, but let him show himself anyway...
