maybe it's just me (it wouldn't the be the first time either!) but I got the impression that the body language and eye contact between Surrallan and Simon wasn't comfortable?

Surrallan certainly didn't seem to give Simon a ringing endorsement - I know Adrian said "an alright" from Surrallan is as good as "brilliant" from anyone else - but I disagree in the past with the first winner Surrallan seemed very pleased with the performance of his apprentice and not been afraid to say so.

I never rated Simon as the winner and to be honest I don't get the impression that Surrallan thinks he's all that either.

thoughts anyone??!

I thought Simon had the same rabbit in the headlights look that he'd had throughout the last series.

I agree that Sir Alan didn't seem to rate him, but he was a bit of a dork anyway. Kristina would have delivered for him.

I just thought he had the same facial expression..
Kristina should have won..

He did look rather unsmiling but maybe he was upset at losing his crown - after all 'there can be only one Apprentice' - what happens to them when they're ex apprentices?

I thought exactly the same. Something wasn't quite right.

I got that impression too. But I don't think Sir Alan would ever admit to hiring the wrong person.

The last I heard Simon's naivity had "taken a whack over the head" so there were certainly some teething problems. I don't see Simon as the kind of guy that blends into Sralan's corporation. I'm not denying he's good, enthusiastic etc etc but I don't see him in that world.

But Sralan really can't afford to lose ANOTHER apprentice. Look at the Donald over the pond. He's kept all of his for about 6 series worth or so I think.

But I don't think Kristina would have been right either.Fact is Katie (for all her faults) was the best last year and Sir Alan knew it

I thought he looked rough. He had aged a lot in that year.

Was she hell. The "Best of British" and the art task showed Katie up well and truely.

They get sacrified in the Amstrad wicker man.

I know what you mean. Simon didn't seem to be that happy going by his body language. He seemed to be smiling through gritted teeth for the sake of keeping up appearances.
Nothing like last year where he came across as buoyant and enthusiastic.

Maybe now that he's been in the role he possibly thinks that the job wasn't as much as it was cut out to be?
Maybe he felt that it sounded glamourous and everything with luxury yachts and penthouses, as he was led to believe in the way task rewards made out, but in reality wasn't what he expected and was just like any other normal job?

Simon did seem to come across as very downbeat compared to how he came across last year. Last year he was buzzing thinking that the title of the Apprentice would be the best job in the world ever, as most people might probably think, but since actually doing the job maybe he's more muted and been brought back down to planet Earth and the daily routine of reality?

Ugh no.

Katie=attention-seeking horse-faced bitch.

Kristina=achieving (if orange-faced) success story.

Oh, and my brother vaguely knows Ambrose and thinks he is a plank...

That would be because the jobs they get actually seem pretty exciting and most definitely have "the glamour factor" working for them. They also get to choose between 2 or 3 such projects. The fact is... none of the UK apprentices have been given jobs that seemed any better than what they were already doing before going on the show. They certainly have been lacking in the 'wow' factor. I also suspect that those who appear on the US show end up with truly great salaries. For all their talk about it and for as much as I'd love £100k a year, it really isn't all that great IMO for what they've had to go through.

No he hasn't!!! Most have flown the coop, while keeping a "toe" in the Trump camp as non-exec director of certain of his enterprises.

As much as I loved Simon, Sir Alan made a mistake and you can tell he knows it! I actually cringed when he said he was "alright".

katie was a fame seeking bint

Kristina has gone on to mayn more money than simon

infact katie earnt £1 million in one year, whereas simon earnt 100,000

so in reality katie made more money losing than simon did winning

and sir alan can chose where his money goes

kristina would have got many many job offers anyway so in that respect she is better off

Isn't it a one year contract that they win? In which case his would have had to have been renewed by now. I'm sure that wouldnt have happened if SA was not happy with him.

I agree. I got the impression that SA is not overly impressed with Simon.

How did Katie do that?

Simon is working on property near Stanssted? Could be a deal on the slow burn taking years to come to fruition. He could be lonely out there.
