Lee's new job

Unless the new job Lee is taking on is much more glamorous and techical than sralan has mentioned, I would be incredibly disappointed to go through 12 weeks to be offered it.

The technology (again, unless it's something new) is old hat and advertising through TV screens within public areas has been done for years.

I used to work in a job where part of my remit was to be the liaison person with a company offering something similar within the NHS and it is not cutting edge whatsoever!

Have I missed any further explanation of the job, or is it really heading up a project to put advertising TV screens on the underground??

Could be right. I think the attraction of the job is the entire project, start to finish.

It's the scale of the thing!

Seeing a a project like that through from start to finish whilst being mentored by someone with the experience of AS is an amazing oportuniuty!

If he's sucessful it will move him to a new level of management that would have taken years (unless he was very lucky) by normal routes.

I guess it is a good stepping stone.

As someone who has seen a company do exactly what Lee is going to be doing though (the development and the negotiations where to place etc and then the day to day running of it) before my organisastion became involved as a customer, I guess I've seen the pitfalls and the difficulties and whilst it's a good project to over see, it seems to lack the 'uctting edge' feel to it (but that's just to me as i've experienced it)

In comparison to Simon's job, it doesn't seem as 'high level' - it's basically managing the placing of moving advertising hoardings (to put it in its simplest context) and it's been done before by a few companies already.

Good luck to him though, I liked Lee from the beginning.
