June Brown MBE!
Congrats to June! ![]() Quote:
June Brown, another almost eternal presence on the small screen, was appointed MBE for playing the sanctimonious, judgmental and two-faced Dot Cotton on the BBC soap EastEnders, as well as for her charity work.

Aww, really pleased for her
Here's hoping that next time Eileen Derbyshire, Barbara Knox and Pam St Clement will be on the list as well!

BBC NEWS - Quote:
June Brown, who has had two stints as busybody chain smoker Dot Cotton on EastEnders, was recommended for her honour by fellow cast member Leslie Grantham. Leslie recommended her! Aww! The 81-year-old said it was "lovely" to be joining fellow EastEnders stars Barbara Windsor and Wendy Richard, who have previously received honours. ![]() http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7453476.stm |

Aww well done June! ![]() Quote:
Congratulations to June Brown, who's been given an MBE for her services to drama and charity. http://www.bbc.co.uk/eastenders/news...20080614.shtml
June Brown has played EastEnders icon Dot Branning since 1985. Earlier this year she won critical acclaim when she performed the show's first solo episode. June said of the honour: "It's lovely to be joining the actors Rudolph Walker, Barbara Windsor and of course Wendy Richard from EastEnders in being given an honour. I'm delighted for my main charity, The Michael Elliott Trust, of which I am president, and all my smaller charities. Not forgetting my family who are very happy for me." EastEnders Executive Producer Diederick Santer spoke of June as "a truly special woman and perfomer,“ adding, "We're incredibly proud of her as she receives this much-deserved honour.” |

![]() She is good, but let's not get carried away ![]() ![]() So happy she got some recognition, but I'm still in awe as to how Bruce Forsyth hasent got some recognition, over 60 years and nothing.

Nope, I would put her up there with Victoria Wood, Judi Dench and just for you Bonze Helen Worth, but that just might be me.
