One thing that has been confusing me throughout this is the fact (for me) that Lee is the drop-dead gorgeous one that you would immediately notice if you walked into that room and Alex is just some lanky, ordinary-looking bloke with a jar of hair gel and too much time on his hands,

so...

*why*? did everyone go on about how gorgeous Alex is and no-one even mentioned Lee's amazing looks?

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder because I don't think either of them are remotely attractive...now Simon on the other hand!!

I have no idea. Lee has much nicer eyes and physique, but scrawny Alex was more popular. In his DS interview, Alex said he would topless shots if the money was right, now I would pay not to see that!

That's the trouble with having BB style people on the apprentice, people focus on the looks and nothing else. Just check out some of the pro Alex threads, people whittering on about how good he would look in his undercrackers!

Not by teeny boppers, and they are the demographic for 'torso of the week' in things like heat magazine!

I've read a lot of the comments on the Heat website so I'm not convinced on that front, tbh. Like I said I'm sure he has his fan club, but not sure it's exactly all encompassing....certainly the Heat crowd seem rather more taken with Raef than anyone.

Oh yeah, but I think in a way they are trying to influence their readership to some extent. Like in the early part of the series they were always covering Alex on their site and in their magazines, but it certainly reduced as the series progressed. No doubt Alex will pop up in Heat magazine, but then again so does Jade Goody and she isn't really very popular either....

Alex is more conventionally good looking, almost pretty. As has been said before, almost as if it were a derogatory term, he's boyband material. I don't think he's at all skinny (I don't actually have a problem with skinny men anway, I much prefer them to even the slightest amount of podge that I find off putting in even the most otherwise beautiful person). He's just very tall and still young. Some men take longer than others to fill out.

Lee is exactly that. A man with a man's build but he's not exactly at risk of bursting out of his clothes or breaking the scales either.

I think you're opinion is clouding your eyesight and you only appear able to see and hear anti-Alex opinions.

Not at all, I acknowledged he does have a fan club of sorts, but I have seen and heard very little that is positive about Alex, even in the media guardian, when they profiled the finalists they made a point of saying that Alex had lost a lot of support amongst the teen and female market because of how he had behaved on the show.

Not something I can say I've noticed among females I know of any age.

Both of them are fairly plain and vastly over rated in the looks department. In fact this applies to all of the attributes
required for business.

Alex was always deceitful, but quite a few people seemed to forgive him in the beginning because of his looks. After what he did to Lucinda, I don't think many people like him.

It's funny that female contestants are never forgiven because of how they look - if anything, the good looking ones are more likely to be hated.

Well there you go: My point exactly. I can't think of one actually good looking person from a boy band. They are all normally plain guys who have had a lot of money thrown at them.

Alex is a normally plain guy who has had no money thrown at him.

Personally Simon was the sexiest guy this year, i also found Michael attractive, he had a gorgeous smile

I thought Sir Alan was sexier than any of the male contestants this year - and I don't find him sexy at all.

It's a well documented thing that pretty/beautiful/handsome or generally good looking people are more easily forgiven than those who are not.

Think back a few years to the hanging effigies of David Beckham after the 1998 World Cup and the death threats and other offences to Cristiano Ronaldo after the 2006 World Cup. How easily were they forgiven and forgotten?

As for what Alex did to Lucinda, what was wrong with that? It was nothing that any of the others shouldn't have done and didn't agree with, and nothing that I or anyone I know who I've spoken about it with wouldn't have done. After Lucinda's "performance" on You're Fired I was even more pleased that Alex did what he did. She really showed her true colours.


It's all a matter of personal taste but no one has every got into a boyband through being hideously ugly.


Michael, though far from ugly, had a horrible sickeningly slimey look about him.

Or maybe not. I have noticed that you twist and see things the way you want to support your ridiculously over the top anti-Alex standpoint.

SAS certainly didn't agree with it as he revealed in the You're fired show.

He said "I don't like someone doing my job for me". Something he said about several of the candidates for various reasons.

The problem is in this instance it didn't make sense. Alex was making him aware of something that had taken place in order that he could make an informed decision. He wasn't telling him what he should do. Once SAS had that knowledge, he could make whatever decision he wanted. If he had been in disagreement with what Alex did he could have fired him there and then but the fact is that in reality no boss dismisses an employee for letting him know about any issues in the camp. If that was the case, PAs would be out of a job every other day.

One thing I notice about SAS during interviews and recaps is that he contradicts himself and often appears to speak out of his posterior.
