Big Brother's Jon to host TV science show

Big Brother's Jon Tickle has landed a role as a TV presenter - on a wacky science show.

He will conduct experiments on an anarchic new show for Sky One which launches in the autumn.

The physics graduate will be a guest host on Brainiac which is aimed at making science more fun, with stunts that viewers can pull off at home.

Station controller Sara Ramsden said: "He took a while deciding whether he wanted to get into telly or not and he has decided this feeds his interests.

"We started chatting to him as soon as he came out of the house. It's going to be a completely anarchic show. It will be things like putting various chemicals down a toilet to make it erupt like Mount Vesuvius.

Thx Tamara,

Will Jon still carry on with his normal daytime job though or will he have to give it up.

This is quite good for Jon to get some tv work on Sky one.

Well done, Jon. As anyone with a brain knows, he *is* the real winner of BB4. I can't actually remember what any of the rest look like now, they are that forgetable.

Well well its as I predicted, a life of wacky, second rate science TV rubbish for the 3rd class degree physics graduate.

I think I said 'Robot wars' or 'scrapheap challenge', near enough tho!

So much for, 'I'm going back to work on monday', what a fake! At least the others were more honest than that smugarse.

Two points Sorefish...

1. He *is* back at work... right now.

2. It makes me so happy that he's getting the tv gigs and that old woman CaMoron hasn't even got his cheque!

And what's the a**ehole Cameron doing now that's so great?? He doesn't appear to have even received the £70k yet and Jon's already gone back to his old job as promised and got a presenting job on the side.

Found this on Ananova. Don't think link has already been posted by Tamara yet, although it's word for word almost. Just a link for the bit on Jon and the new show.

I am so pleased for Jon, this is some of the better news so far to have come ou,t as a result of BB4.

If only Endermol had realised what a star they had, and hadn't worked so hard to get Jon evicted. Now they are just left with Cameron the dud, to do them proud or not as the case may be.

Read through the posts properly before posting the above . Jon still has a normal life and his regular job, and it took a lot of convincing for him to take this job offered as well. I daresay he has turned down lots of work, as a result of being the most popular contestant of BB 4.

Anna 123... the same answer that the one I have already posted above...

Jon isn't leaving his Job at Centrica

What's wrong with him doing a TV program that goes with his pet interests? Wouldn't you do the same given the opportunity?

so what?
Give the guy a break and be happy that because of him mainstream television is getting interested in science again.

Why be so angry that he's a success?

At least he’s not ramming religion down our faces or trying to pass himself off as 'dangerous'!

Congratulations Jon!
Presenting an authentic TV science show is not remotely like being a Z-list celeb. Well done for being the first from BB4 to get a proper presenting job - he's not all talk like the others.

Don't forget Jon is on Celebdaq this Friday on BBC3.

I too am so very pleased that the genuine and sincere Jon has landed something of interest to him and us, and also that supercilious, scheming fake Cameron is being made to wait for his 30 pieces of silver...

It sounds like fun and the kind of thing which Jon would probably really enjoy.

Many people believe that science is boring. I love the idea of a show which might stimulate a bit of interest in science, especially in younger people. Too many people seem to believe that science is turgid and difficult.
I may be weirdly unusual but I always found science fascinating. Perhaps I was just lucky and blessed with school teachers who managed to make it interesting?
I can imagine Jon explaining things in an engaging and novel manner which hopefully will at least make people less scared by science and more interested in the world around them.

As for those making disparaging remarks, it sounds as if JT has the best of both worlds

Well, if you are weirdly unusual, then I must be , as I absolutely love science too, as I'm sure do a lot of people .

Science isn't thought to be cool though, if you know what I mean?
I did Maths and science A levels and I used to be called a "spanner man" by my friends who were doing things like History and English.
I think it's quite sad that some people think ignorance about how things work is somehow laudable.
