Personally I think Bet Lynch has had her day but the McDonalds could be good!

Rather than bringing back old characters, I wish they'd weed out the poorer ones and replace them with decent actors (Tracey, Kieran, Kevin & Sally, Martin, Peter Barlow etc etc!)

According to the BBC website the three characters will not be linked at all - gives a different spin on the Sun article. I wonder who is right!!!

Funny I was thinking that Sally and Kevin have turned into boring pointless characters recently, maybe Rosie luv could become a child soap star in a fictional soap down south and they all move away!

Ho Hum, Back on topic.

They are great characters, and I think personally it's good they are coming back for a few episodes, it's another fault with soaps, children never seem to see there family's once they move away from the soap (Adds a bit of reality to the show!) now let's hope that the scriptwriters are working on a couple of new 'normal family's' for the street, won't that be refreshing! (instead of the big storyline family's eg Harris (Yawn), Battersby (need I say more!)

Hi all

I was never that keen on Liz and Jim near to the end. They were great when the first started on the street, but then went a bit down hill. I'm not expecting that much from their return - but I may be proved wrong.

Bet's had her day with me too.

~x~

Is it right that Karen is going? I hear conflicting reports, but haven't read anything in the papers or heard anything on the box.
I think it will be great if they do get to get together , who's side would Steve take in the fisticuffs?
I agree with Rawsie luv, and the rest of the Websters going, I was watching that child (...with such potential! as Sal says)... dance last night, Worzel Gummidge in his field wasn't that stiff. I think they've passed their sell by date now. And Martin! I want to throw something at the tv when he is on.

I am amazed they are bringing Bet back. I don't think it worked last time and I find Julie Goodyear embarressing to watch.

I never liked Jim a nd Liz either but it may be interesting for them to make a BRIEF visit back. They are filming a storyline in Blackpool and if successful they may become regulars again. Oh joy!

it's not quite the same thing. Any character who leaves a soap could theoretically return unless they are killed off - except in the case of Den, of course. None of the Corrie characters is dead!

Jim Macdonald? Oh no.

Liz Macdonald? Oh no no (although seeing her spatting with Karen might be good).

Bet Lynch/Gilroy? Oh extra double helpings of no. She was rubbish last time and I can't see her being any better this time round. She's just a cartoon charicature of her former self and her day is long gone.

Katie.

I'm suprised that they are allowing Julie Goodyear back after her last fiasco.

Agreed! She's become a bit of a pantomime dame, really and I don't think her return to the Street is a very good thing!

I couldnt stand Liz McDonalds mouth. It made very peculiar shapes whilst she talked. I will spend the whole episode fascinated

NO NO NO!! Please don't totally RUIN the street with the return of Bet.

She waltzes in as if she owns the place, her last appearance was a total disaster with the scriptwriters all over the place because of her "exhaustion" and bringing in Maureen Lipman and everyone quickly forgot it ever happened. How many current residents on the street now actually knew her? Rita, Sally, Kevin, Emily maybe, but not many more. It would be a complete mistake. The public who want her back are sadly deceiving themselves. Julie Goodyear is a woman who believes here own hype. Her chat show failed, she is so well known as Bet that she could never play another role (unlike the passable Bev Callard in 2Pints)

Please Granada don't do this to us

Listen to reason

If they bring her back they may as well bring back Reg Holdsworth and revive that terrible spin off they had a few years ago - complete pantomime, which, incidentally, is where Bet Lynch belongs, sorry love but the truth hurts
