i'm thinking of getting one of these but dont know much about them.
the one thing i would like to know is , as this can only store 1 hours worth of footage is there anyway of transferring what you have stored onto another storage device such as a memory stick and and then wiping the memory and starting again.
the reason i ask is i would like to take it on holiday and would not have access to a pc.
thanks

Did you buy the Flip in the end? I'm considering it - I need something to record short clips of my kids doing funny stuff and the sound keeps cutting out on my existing digital camera.

Thanks

I bought a Flip a few weeks ago and I'm very pleased with it. Does exactly what it says on the box, very simple to use, and the picture quality compares favourably with my old Sony MiniDV camcorder.

To backup files from the Flip on-the-go, you'd need something like this USB copy bridge:

You can plug in the Flip and another USB device (a flash drive, for example) and it'll copy files from one to the other.

I picked up a Flip Ultra HD today. Not too impressed so far tbh. Maybe I'm expecting too much. I filmed some indoor footage and in low light (living room light is the only source of light) the quality is really bad when you're looking at black objects. For example the black monitor next to me here when filmed looks like static.

I've yet to test it outdoors in proper light so I'll reserve judgement until then but I'm not too happy so far. Maybe I'm expecting too much from a £140 jobbie. It certainly doesn't look HD to me.
