I remember the days when Vodafone PAYG used to have the service charge...how annoying was that! I was so happy when AllCalls came out!

Wasn't it something like a £15 top-up got you £10 calling credit and 60 service days?

I can still remember the annoucement to this day...spine chilling: "Your service credit is running low, please arrange a top-up"

The first logo I ever brought cost only 10p! Oh how times have changed

Mine was a Mitsubishi Trium Geo@ which was one of the first WAP phones released as I recall.

It was on BT Cellnet PAYG.

I had it for about a year and then switched to a Sony CMD-J7 on Virgin PAYG then Panasonic GD67 on Virgin PAYG again and then finally my current phone a Sony Ericcson t68i on O2 Online Pay Monthly.

Mine was that Orange Bosch.

You know the one! It was on the orange network (pay as you go) and was orange in colour.

Absoulutly disgusting looking back now.

Mind you, I havent learnt my lesson. Now got a nokia 7650 which must be one of the most faulty, ugly and most troublesome phones on the market!

Hi there Saxton,

Where should I start?

* There is a common problem involving the power button on the side of the phone. It is very temperamental and it sometimes takes me about 10 mins to turn my phone on! Honest mate!

* The slide starts to loosen after a few months use.

* The numbers on the keypad become sticky, on my handset th number 7, 4 and * key sometimes don't respond.

* There is very limited memory on the phone.

* The phone often doesnt recieve calls or texts but acts fine in the process, in other words my phone is fine to use and seems ok, but then all of a sudden I will recieve a batch of voicemails and texts that have been collected over the last few hours or sometimes days.

* When you go into a 'no reception' zone the phone will not pick up a reception when you move back into an area with reception. You have to manually turn the phone off and on again (which is a task within itself with the power button!) before it picks up a reception!

I know friends that have 7650's that are slighlty newer than mine (mine is about 7 months old) and theirs are starting to develop these problems.

P.S. Anyone want to buy a great condition 7650 top-of-the-range Nokia handset?

I had a Bosch 509e too! I thought it was just me who bought one.

Those were the days, 10 free messages a day, but then you couldn't send any more! How daft was that?

I have had my 7650 for over 1 year now, and has been used to death. The only problem i have ever experienced out of those, is the reception one, and thats only twice. My phone slides properlly, my power button has never failed me, my numbers are not sticky.... what do you do to your phone? Also remember at the time 4 Megabytes on a phone was the most on the market!

My First phone was a Motorola C520 on One2One.

I'm still using my first phones, namely 3 Motorola M3788e, all with a heavy hint of dinosaur styling and all on ROAYG (Rip Off As You Go).
