or just get your sister or you to go into an orange store with the phone and see the manager and he can turn it off if you show your over 18.

You can only remove Safeguard if:

1) You pass the Experian age verification check when you call 450

or

2) Take in Photo ID (Driving Licence, Passport or Prove-it card) to an Orange Shop.

or

3) Register a Visa, Mastercard or Amex credit card that's in YOUR name to the account and top up with at least £5

... of course, if you are under 18 then Safeguard will not be removed at all.

Also, if you don't drive or have a passport, have a credit card and fail the age verification check as well, then no matter how old you are, it won't be removed either.

A lot of networks use age verification now, so you may find problems elsewhere. A site will be protected if either:

1) It's a open forum where any kind of adult chat can take place (such as here).

2) It is rated as suitable as over 18 only (either dating, pron or gambling).

3) or the site has no age classification assigned to it.

The networks, like I have said are cracking down on access to certain sites by minors, so you'll probably find issues wherever you go. Orange won't bend the rules because you threaten to leave. It's there to protect customers.

Sounds like an admin error on their part.

For example, if my 8 year old son had a T-Mob PAYG phone and I was funding it with my credit card, I'd be horrified if he'd phoned up and asked for the content lock to be removed and they did it!
