The Mortons and the bookies have been axed from Corrie and the Connors survived. Kym Marsh has just been given a new a new contract. Did the producer/s get it right?

If we put it to a DS forum vote who do you think should stay or go?

Mortons stay /go?
Bookies stay /go?
Connors stay /go?

I'd say Mortons stay and give them an actual storyline with the rest of the street they still haven't had a proper chance though would get rid of the ex wife she annoys me.
The bookies go although I like the son with Leanne I don't particularly like them. Connors not sure about Carla and Liam but definetely get rid of Kym Marsh

No the producers got it completely wrong. They bring the Mortons in, don't even give them a chance, then axe them, then give them a big storyline which shows off their true potential.

Same goes for the Mortons-axe them, then give them a big storyline which shows their true potential.

I think all 3 families should stay and Corrie should get rid of some other deadwood-Corrie needs to keep the families.

Well I think I speak for most people when I say they should have got rid of Kym Marsh and Sean Cotton instead. I was never a fan of the Snoretons but the Connors are unbearable.

Still there will only be one left once Liam goes. Ryan isn't Michelle's son and Carla isn't blood related. The family have been a bit of a disaster zone really with neither brother lasting the course, some would say thank god...

I think the Connors have become one of the best families in Corrie in ages-part of a lot of major storylines.

All characters have mixed in very well and both Michelle & Carla will be able to continue as characters without Liam. Michelle is without a doubt one of the best Corrie characters to join this century and she was just given a bad storyline with the baby swap.

Carla & Tony have a lot of potential and Tony is developing into an interesting character.

See people always say it's down to the babyswap but I never liked her before that. I don't think she's had one good storyline yet. There was all that stuff when she discovered what happened with her husband or whoever he was and her brothers in that accident but it fell flat mainly due to Kym's lack of talent and the fact she'd only been in the soap 5 minutes at that point so the scenes were always going to lack emotional punch, even if she were the best actress in the world.

I've also never seen signs of any chemistry between her and Steve.

Carla's OK but a bit panto and the whole predictable Liam/Carla thing bores my t*ts off to be honest. And I find whingey Maria unbearable to watch in any capacity. She's one of the main reasons I haven't watched a single part of any ep in weeks.

Mortons stay /go? particually Daryll
Bookies stay /go?
Connors stay /go? but maybe get rid of Ryaaaan and Michelle.

Also, they should have axed the remaining Battersbys (Chesney and Kirk). Let's face it, they just do not work anymore. It's cringeworthy television when you're watching them trying to act like real people.

You're so right. They should have given the storyline before they made the decision to axe them, and seen whether or not it worked. Sure, it may have failed. But the thing is, it didn't - and now nobody wants to see the Mortons leave and its just a wasted family and a big disappointment.

I agree-both seem like really nice people in real life but they don't have a part in Corrie anymore. Though, I can see Cilla returning soon...

But without a doubt the best family in Corrie at the moment is the Platts-the dynamic between Gail, David, Audrey, Ted & Tina is excellent and all actors seem to be having a great time.

Ted & Tina are two characters who the producers have got spot on

I agree that The Mortons and the bookies were brought in and then ignored. Now they've given them good storylines, which has proven their worth to Corrie. Dan & Steve have potential for some good storylines as do Liz & Harry. Also the Mortons have improved with the introduction of the mum.

But I just don't get the Connors. Why are they so popular? Ok they're all good-looking people but is that enough?

When Liam goes what will happen to Carla's character? She's going to need some major character development. But it could work as she is the boss of the factory.

As for Michelle, I'm at a loss to understand her appeal. Her character has no charisma whatsoever. She's either a moaning, whinging, old nag or when it's light-hearted with Steve it just doesn't work because their relationship is just not credible.

I'm not. They've become tedious just like Michelle (Vicky yeah, but no but yeah but no Pollard) Connor.

Apart from the 'Lego hair' she looks good but I doubt that's enough to keep an audience interested.

I want the bookies to stay, I thought they had potential and Corrie needs some strong male characters.

I think the Mortons should have been given more of a chance. I like Jerry and the twins, especially Darryl. I like his friendship with David, he provides good comedy and I can't believe they are getting rid of him when dullards like Kirk, Chesney and Fiz get to stay.

I'm quite glad Liam is going, he seems permanently bored and the actor looks like he is just going through the motions until he leaves. I just wish he would take the whiney, miserable, boring Maria with him. Michelle I don't mind either way, as long as they don't keep overusing her like they have been. Carla I really like, lots of depth, potential and a great actress.
