From Mobile-ent.biz

Eighty per cent cut indicates just how exorbitant previous price points were. From July 1st T-Mobile will slash the cost of internet access from a handset or laptop mobile broadband connection while roaming in the EU from £7.50 per megabyte to just £1.50.

The reduction comes in the same week EU commissioner Viviane Reding railed against the cost of data roaming in Europe and off the back of GSMA research that showed European data roaming traffic had jumped by 75 per cent.

The fact that T-Mobile can lop 80 per cent off its data charges and presumably still make money indicates that current rates were exorbitantly high.

Nice.

They put up 08xx call costs in the UK, and drop international data charges.

They just choose different ways to get money from people

I wonder if this constitutes a change to their terms and conditions... If so, I want to terminate my contract

Hopefully other networks follow suite. That does piss me off about those 0800 numbers. They were designed to be free, why do mobile operators charge?! BT would be absolutely hammered if they ever start charging for 0800 numbers. Also, 0845 numbers should be included in peoples tariffs. It is like they have the cheek to charge or use some of your allowance for voicemail!! Wth?! Voicemail should be one of those things that is free. Email is free. If I wanted something extra like more storage etc then I would be happy to pay for it, but I am happy with a free service. Next thing they will start doing is charging people for dialing 999. There are also rumours that they will start charging people for receiving calls and texts within their domestic country.
