Why won't my K800i work on Orange?
I have an unlocked Vodafone K800i, I've put an Orange 3G SIM card in this phone, everything else works fine but the internet access is so bad its not worth using.
90% of the time it won't even connect, then when it does its pathetic, slow, disconnects and generally don't work. Is this typical of Orange 3G? Cos if it is i'll be going back to Vodafone. Anyone else having similar problems? Could it be im using an unlocked Vodafone? |

Sounds like Orange 3G to me - have you checked 3G data has been activated on the SIM?
The slowness of Orange's data network is really noticable, T-Mobile's GPRS network out performs Orange 3G in side by side comparisons we have done at work

Sorted it. . . Snapped the Orange sim and thrown it in the bin, back on Vodafone now.

I swapped from Orange contract to pre-pay in march 2006, but the contract SIM was a green 3G SIM, and the replacement offered by Orange was a blue 2G-only SIM.
It looked at the time that Orange would restrict access to their own network by IMEI number, ie: if I put my 3G SIM into another 3G phone, it would not get a 3G service. Not sure if this is still true. Vodafone appear to allow any 3G device (not identified as stolen) access to their 3G network. |
