magic eye

Is there a magic eye for extending the use of the remote control for a digihome 80? Most seem only to work with SKY boxes.
The box is close to the TV in a bedroom but we want to put it in a cupboard under the TV and operate the remote control with a magic eye connected to the aerial socket if possible.

As far as I know only Sky has this ability. Digihome certainly doesn't. Normal remote extenders usually use a radio link which would be overkill in this case, but I don't know if any straightforward wired solutions currently exist, ie remote sensor (eye) on one end wired to an emitter near the box; I've seen plenty circuits for DIY solutions.

I recall someone last year was looking for confirmation of an unlikely unpowered solution possibly using fibre optics. Don't know if that was fruitful or not.
