Holy Moly
JCR

Okay, please excuse this almost certain nonsense thread, I'm very bored. Holymoly.co.uk have said one of these 3 WILL be the 11th doctor:

1. John Simm (The mister Master)
2. Harry Lloyd (Robin Hood/Human Nature)
3. Aiden Gillen (The Wire/QAF)

And Lloyd is the one they want most. Holymoly seem sure, and they have been right about 1 or 2 things before.

As I said on another thread this makes sense only if RTD is still casting seems more logical to look at Steven Moffat preferences than RTD ones

It also makes sense if the Dr was to regenerate during the last special next year.

While it commendably goes out on a limb to be the first with news, Holy Moly has been known to get it spectacularly wrong. The answers to the above suggestions, in order, are: No, no, and, no.

How is Courtney Love these days anyway?

Again if that was to happen shouldn't Moffat have the say who should be the new Doctor

Yep, even if the Doctor regenerates during an RTD written special the actual casting of the 11th Doctor would be down to Moffat.

Anyone but James Nesbitt. Much as I enjoy Moffat's writing, he has a fondness for the chap - my greatest fear is that when DT decides to call it a day, Nesbitt will be the favoured replacement.

If Moffat does go with someone he was worked with before it should be Jack Davenport.

For some reason, Holy Moly thinks Harry Lloyd is the favourite of the three.

mmm yum

Ben Miles,Dennis Lawson or REG(all previously have worked for Moffat) would also be good choices imo.

Anything written in Holy Moly should be taken with a very large pinch of salt. How they have come to the conclusion that one of these three will definitely be the next Doctor exactly? I know, they probably hunt down some of the speculation threads on various forums and pick out the most ridiculous names that have been mentioned.

I know; I'm interested by the prospect of Aiden Gillen though, think he'd be good.

As a new convert to The Wire (just finished series 1) I've not seen him yet, I do however think that Dominic West could be a great battle hardened Doctor, or how about Idris Elba as the first black Doctor?

As for John Simm, no I still don't get how that would be possible, and I've never heard of that other bloke but he looks way too young.

I know DT is young but there's age in them there eyes.

He's got a strong east london accent in real life apparently, I can't see that working somehow

He had a strong Baltimore accent in The Wire, and, would you believe it, David Tennant's Scottish!

I guess so. Don't think he'd do UK tv when the money's in hollywood though.

Isn't Harry Lloyd only 15!?

Would've thought if you pick someone too young, you're asking to lose viewers?

Don't have any source for this, just hearsay, but its pretty common knowledge around the BBC drama departments that DT is going in the last special and a replacement has been cast. Top secret as to who obviously. I think DT made a comment just before RTD announced he was off, saying he will be The Doctor as long at RTD is involved which was a pretty wierd thing to say at the time as obviously he would have known he was leaving.
