Who are the WORST soap actors at the moment?
Not past ones, I'm talking about current characters.
Personally I think Dennis Watts is a tad CRAP. Though he's been better recently, but I stil think he's a bit wooden... Oh, and Spencer Moon |

For me, it has to be...
Brodie and Reese from Home and Away Brodie. Inhumanly happy one minute, and then bleedin' miserable the next. What kind of anti-depressants does she take? Oh, and Reese, you can stop doing your impression of a bulldog chewing a wasp now. Oh, I forgot - he always looks like that. Oh well. |

Originally posted by SoapFanatic Out of those, I would disagree that the following people CAN act: Karen, Norris, Gail, Angela, Sarah, Eileen, Les, Katie.Les, Janice, Karen, Norris, Emily, Gail, Maria, Tyrone, Katie, Angela, Emma, Candice, Todd, Sarah, Tony (Jason's Dad), Eileen, Jason How on Earth you can say that Sarah and Gail can't act is beyond me! They are both extremely talented actresses. I might not like the characters, bu they can certainly act. In fact, if you really hate a character, it only reflects on the acting ability of the actor. |

Imho anyone who went to the Nodding Head School of Acting is dire. The worst offenders appear in Coronation Street and are most often under twenty years of age......except the actress who plays Karen MacDonald. Suranne Jones is old enough to know better.

Originally posted by chrisbailey Sorry, I disagree. I know exactly the type of characer Les is supposed to be but to me, Bruce Jone's interpretation is wooden and stilted. There have been many "annoying" characters in lots of different TV series over the years and I'd agree that a good portrayal of them makes you love to hate them. In Les's case, the character is reasonably well written but badly acted. IMHO, of course ... but that's part of the character. He's not supposed to be very intelligent, he's rough, stupid and annoying and I think Bruce Jones does a very good job of playing Les.

I really find it hard to believe that anyone can call Janice a bad actress...she's plays the part fantastically if you ask me, and when required, she can pull off emotional scenes very well, like with Toyah and the rape thing, and the whole Dennis situation.

I think Eileen is one of the best actors on the Street. I can imagine her being exactly like her character in real life. I agree with the comment about Les, though - his acting is very poor.
