I totally believe that the BBC runner came to get him to sit up with Graham for reaction purposes. I didn't believe for a minute it was their third date and I do believe this story for the most part, because she did do it to a man on the Biggest Loser. same sort of thing.

He wasn't invited to the wrap party, don't you find this strange? her biggest support and the man she was engaged to on this show and who the BBC put up front for a back story and he wasn't there?

Some of this may be exaggerated for sure, but I believe he was cast out and that they didn't meet salsa dancing. why would he make himself look like an idiot by saying that they met on sugardaddies, it is much as a stigma for such a young millionare.

I have lost some respect, because she lied. plain and simple. no one is all sweetness and light.

and i do agree about voting for her on merit, and not for any back story, that is they way it should be...but some people are thick and also fall for this shit.

Personally I believe the main story of this, although likely to be exaggerated in parts ( We are talking News of the World here). I always felt there was a bit of a fakeness about Jodie I couldn't put my finger on and the fact she has already done 1 reality show accentuated this feeling - she is a bit "I will do anything" for fame type. It was the same feeling I had about Kim Ryder when she was in Popstars (Hearsay), she too came across in the same way, and purported her undying love to her boy friend and kids many a time (after pretending at first she didn't have any children and then getting found out - how awful is that? - ....and then on winning had chucked her boyfiriend within weeks and started dating a "star". Personally i did not think she was a great singer. Myleene was the one who came out looking bad in this (because she felt Kim was unprofessional which caused arguements, but I never felt Kim was professional), but of many of the clips I saw of jodie reminded me of Jodie and this story comes of no surprise at all. Have to say, though, the Steve guy also sounds a bit of a strange man as well.

Buddy, if you believe for one minute that some of the story is not true, the third date, the engagement, her other engagement on BL, him not going to the wrap party, him not being asked to sit with Graham for reactions, and perhaps that Jodie is not ALL sweetness and light, then you are naive. as much as i love you, you can't possibly think this is ALL totally rubbish. the main bit is true, they are not engaged and it seemed pretty obvious to me anyway, that this marriage was not going to take place, whether she won or not.

they didn't meet salsa dancing either. i could care less about the sex stuff and whatever else about hid opinions because if he is going to meet someone from a site called sugardaddie that is what is to be expected. i am not saying Jodie is a total using, cruel, callous bitch, am just saying that some of this is probably true. the way this was so brought to the forefront don't you fiind it odd there were not post pictures of her with the love of her life? i don't know about her leaving the flowers behind and he is definately scorned, but still, funny how he just disappeared after the whole thing. i never heard about him any longer anyway.

I know the papers like to stir things up and make them sound worse than they are but I feel a bit cheated because Jodie comes across as a nice girl but is now actually seeming like quite the manipulative, fame hungry girl.
Also I did think it was a bit weird how she never ran to hug Steve after she got through to the next round/didn't mention him when she was bawling her eyes out after winning saying I love me mam, me dad etc.

And so the backlash begins! I remember articles about Connie and Lee not long after they won too, it is just not fun to celebrate victory, it is important to the media that people need to be built up and then just as quickly knocked down.

Jodie's engagement was not a huge point during the show, it was mentioned the week he proposed and then ALW asked her once if she was still engaged (apparently not as stange a quesiton as it seemed!) and that was that - she hardly played on it and from what I recall it wasn't mentioned even once during the final and there was plenty of opportunity for it.

It's a shame that the engagement has ended and even more a shame that he has felt the need to wash their dirty linen in public, in the NOTW no less, and presumably for a large sum of money to soften the blow. We only get his side of the story and it's clear he's bitter about what happened.

Personally i couldn't care less what Jodie gets up to in her private life, I don't know what Jessie or Samantha or Rachel do either but you can bet there would have been stories about how horrible they are too if one of them had won, they'd probably have managed to dig up dirt on Sarah even (she probably frowned once or something).

Of course she's fame hungry, please tell me which of the thousands who auditioned weren't. But i think it was the beeb rather than Jodie who made a fuss over the engagement, Jodie seemed slightly embarassed by the whole thing and rarely if ever mentioned it herself. Plus, how do you say no to someone who proposes while you are in the middle of a nationwide talent search programme?

it is a shame, but i do think it was made a big point, from the moment you saw him sitting with Graham and her squealing about the engagement. if it hadn't have been brought up in the first place and shown as such a wonderful thing, this would be a non issue, just another break up.

i also think it shouldn't matter what jodie gets up to her in her private life and a lot of things in that article did NOT need to be said. a simple break up would be fine. i did wonder when i didn't see him in any photos or her mentioning anymore tbh. did people go this nuts when Lee broke up with his lady to be with Denise? i think it is smut to do this to her, but a couple of the points i found interesting. a lot of it is probably rubbish.

From what I recall it was a big issue as was the articles about Connie cheating on her soldier boyfriend with a stage hand or something similar which I think in the end turned out to be nonsense.

Jodie more than likely wanted a simple break up but loverboy wanted to make a quick buck. All we have is what he says is true and if I was Jodie I wouldn't even lower myself to acknowledging it.

I am not so naive to believe there is not some truth in the story.

I've no doubt they have split up, but I only know what he is supposed to have told The People and The News of the World newspapers (both papers have such a good reputation for truth too ).

Even if it true that they met through the sugardaddies' website, not everyone wants people to know that they met through a dating website, so it is not that uncommon to say something else (my best friend for instance tells people that she met her husband of three years in a pub if asked).

Jodie also might be the kind of person who falls in and out of love easily, but that's not a crime as far as I know and plenty of people are like that.

She may have made a fuss on one episode of the show about getting engaged but an engagement is usually a cause for celebration, even is it is not her first engagement (I was engaged twice myself). It wasn't exactly the topic of conversation on every show was it?

And if she was trying to break up with him for a few weeks before the final, it is hardly surprising she wasn't all over him at the final or the wrap party, etc. It wasn't exactly the time to publically say "actually I'm breaking up with Steve as I don't love him after all" was it?

In fact we haven't heard Jodie mention the break up at all yet, so who knows what happened?

It was only a few weeks back that the red tops were saying Nancy Sam and Joseph Ben were dating which was a load of cobblers . So although am sure there is some truth in this story it has probably been manipulated to make good copy! The truth is probably that they broke up !! To be fair to Jodie I doubt she had much say over the editing of the show. If they wanted to focus on her romance then they would have done so whether she and/or he were happy about it or not!!
