What I don't get after reading all the clips in the online newspapers, is why so many people are going for Jodie when it seems to me she's had a lucky escape! Even by his own admission she was obviously trying to end it a few weeks before the final - and as for posting on here as a BBC employee...

I'm sure she can do better...

Think it proves what a low life he really is after selling his story to the NOTW I can understand that he may be hurt but to sink to that level is awfull... Jodie has had a lucky escape because Steve really is not a very nice person when things dont go his way!!!!! and I think he has well and truley proved that today no matter what is true or not true he has still Sold a story about a woman he professed to have loved...BANG OUT OF ORDER!!!!

I dont see how any of this will have the slightest effect on how well she does as Nancy! It will have no bearing on how she sings or acts!
If I go and see Oliver I wont be sat there thinking 'ooohh theres that FAKE woman' Ill be thinking "Theres that amazing singer/actress who i voted for because she was IMO best for the role'

i agree, with later on it not being so much about, but people remember (well, some people) about the beginning and it was played up in the audition process (how they met and the third date- gaffffffffffffaw) and even the engagement was and then poof gone! which even makes it stranger. the BBC started the whole thing with him sitting up front at auditions as well. i don't even know about the connie thing i was only wondering about lee and denise because he was with someone until this show.

i don't like the fact that this guy was dumped after the publicity of the relationship and the way she portrayed it, but then again they met on a website ffs, also, many many performers who are absoluetly fabulous on stage have a lot worse going on in their personality or real life than this.

her performance should not be judged due to her personal life. that is absolutely ridiculous, there is no correlation. guess what? when you act a different part, you are a little fake as you are playing a character...

We haven't seen Jodie do any real acting yet. How can it be judged on her personal life. How can her singing be judged on her personal life either.
I think what the annoying poster Vicky is trying to say is that her personality was fake, or something along those lines. Therefore it will anger people. I doubt it very much..
There are a lot of idiots out there that are very good performers, and no,one has a problem with going to see them.
Not that I'm saying that Jodie is an idiot. I'm really not. But you get my point. Not that many people care about personality in theatre. They prefer to see a good show.

I wasnt a fan of Jodie and believe that Jodie is fame hungry and used her love story to further herself in the competition. But the way her ex made rude remarks about her body. Thats just pathetic and shows him badly.

that was my point really, someone's personal life doesn't come across when they are on stage. i have Jodie acting. when she did her first auditions as "Barbra Streisand" from funny girl it was all acted/sung. I could see bits of acting when she sang. there were also three acting misisons, so we have seen it. her sweeter than light personality she portrayed was overdone imo. i like jodie, but also believe parts of this story.

I don't believe a word that he said he is just wants to make negative publicity for Jodie. Some of the things that he said were horrible .

well, it would have come out that they broke up anyway and the rumour would be "she is famous now, etc etc etc"- it truly would have been spun this way because he was "in it" with her from the first televised audition.

he didn't have to do what he did, no and he made himself look like an idiot by admitting he trawls women on a sugardaddie website. he will be more villafied than she will in the end.

i am sure she dumped him. whether she did it over a text, who knows and I did find it odd that Steve was nowhere around after she won. this was the "love of her life and her fiance" after all.. i was actually going to start a thread about it.

eandh- i sort of posed that question too. i would say that i thought Denise was a bit of a tramp in that whole thing. when a woman falls for a "taken" man, but she has no idea he is, then i blame the bloke and get angry when his partner says rubbish like "i am going to kill her" instead of putting the blame on her boyfriend/husband, but in this case... Denise knew he was taken. i think that is really bad.

there is another way to look at it though. if he really loved his girlfriend- ( i thought she was on again off again) nothing or no one would make him leave her would it? he too, wanted to be with someone known i think. so his then girlfriend is better off.

I think he's appalling as are the hacks at the NOTW for printing this but like I said earlier it happened to Connie and Lee and Joseph and SOM are still going strong.

In terms of your first point though, can you please tell me how anyone who auditions for a part in a televised talent competition is not fame hungry. Which of the girls in the final 12 do you feel was not in it to be a star of the West End and a household name? How about Jessie's sob story of rejection from drama school, was that simply to further her in the competition? I could go on.

Please do, as I can't remember others so I guess they weren't so memorable.

As far as jessie's, like any of these shows they fill out a form and a mini application as well. the producers capitalize on certain things. it reminds of the bullied boys on BGT. the judges didn't just ask out of the blue, it was in their mini bio.

besides, the drama school thing was silly anyway, judie dench tried 6 times before getting it. that was only mentioned once about the drama school wasn't it? it wasn't mentioned three times or anything. there is no correlation here. being with a fellow on your supposed (false) third date, and then get engaged on national television...that is a little different.

Well drama school has actually something to with the competition as it is showing what has happened so far in Jessie's career. A romance is not related to the show. Secondly I dont think any of the other girls entered this competition in order to gain fame. They did it because musical threatre is their chosen career path. Howver Jodie' s ambition i heard is to land a role in cornation street behind the bar.

I think that we can be fairly sure that she dumped him.
And that she was not very considerate in the way she did it.
However, she may have had a good reason.
Why? Is the big unknown in all of this.

And if her career doesn't take off, expect her in another reality tv show fairly soon.

Jessie's 'drama school' thing was mentioned far more than once - she even said it again during the final in one of her opportunities to say why she should be Nancy. I think the BBC needed something to focus on for each girl - sometimes is was a so called sob story, sometimes it was the fact they were pros, sometimes it was how young they were, for some it was their size, etc, etc.

I'm not posting on this thread any more as we're just rehashing old discussions again and the original 'story' will soon be next weeks chip shop wrappings - I wonder who the NOTW will go for next Sunday?

The difference was that Lee's girlfriend was never featured on ADWD except as an audience member. In fact, unless you had found out otherwise, you would never have known who she was.

There were some other indications that it probably wasn't a relationship headed for marriage which I won't bore you with now.
