I'm going Wednesday.
I hope it's just Bat for Lashes supporting. I can't stand MGMT at all. Never seen Radiohead before so looking forward to it. ![]() Apart from Iron Maiden at Twickenham, this could be the gig of the year.

Going tonight, should be a great night (and then off to Glasto in the morning!) I've also only heard that Bat For Lashes is supporting, but I've also read that she comes on at 6:45, and since the doors open at 4 there's got to be one other support act surely, probably on at 5 or 5:30 or something. Hmm... Quote:

EDIT: Actually, just read the following elsewhere, so it looks like BFL will be the only support. Quote:
Doors are at 4pm, support band is on at 6.45pm and Radiohead are on just
after 8pm with a venue curfew of 10.30pm. |

I'm going to the Old Trafford gig this Sunday with MGMT and Bat for Stereolab supporting.
MGMT + Bat for Lashes = No rush to get in, more drinking time! |

Good look with that ![]() If you're bored, then fine, but don't talk through it and ruin other people's enjoyment.

I went last night and loved it apart from the encore which was a bit flat. They played most of the new album and some old classics like Planet Telex. They played a 2 hour set and came off at 10.30 sharp.
Bat For Lashes were brilliant also, they played for 45 mins but unfortunately had a power cut halfway through and were off for about 10 minutes. I wasn't sure how they'd come over in a big venue but they were superb and I can't wait to see them again. If you're going via Mile End get up the back of the park towards the end otherwise you'll spend forever queing up afterwards as everyone seems to go there. |

I think the power cut had a knock on effect with Radiohead too, as the end of the gig appeared very rushed as they seemed desperate to get everything in before the 10:30 curfew, but a great gig and a really interesting setlist!! |

As MGMT weren't at Victoria Park I can't comment, but Bat For Lashes were brilliant and someone I'd definitely go and see again. Up to you, of course, but I'd say you were going to miss out by not seeing her
As for the support bands, just not feeling Bat for Lashes at all, judging by allot of the feedback from the crowd I wasn't alone. MGMT totally surprised me. We missed the start of their set as they were on ridiculously early (not quite sure why they were on first?), but got the bulk of the set. "Electric Feel" was the highlight for me, if there was ever a song destined to be a stadium anthem. |

I'm suprised Bat For Lashes didn't go down too well, she seemed to go down very well at Victoria Park.
Apparently, according to a mate, Lauren Laverne is a big fan. Enough said. At least MGMT have the good grace not to take themselves too seriously and come armed with two destined for indie disco classics ("Time to Pretend" and "Electric Feel"). |

I think she might be well advised to work on the stage patter also; heckling the crowd with lines like "Don't worry, your precious Radiohead will be on soon", no matter how tong-in-cheek, is neither big nor clever.

I saw Bat For Lashes last Tuesday at Viccy Park and she was very polite and quite humble as it was obviously the biggest gig they'd ever played. This was despite a power cut durin their set also..
I was surprised to see the critisism in some places (newspaper reviews, overhearing some people at Glastonbury who also went) at the set list. Maybe it's because I've seen them before so I've already seen them do the likes of Creep and Karma Police, but I was very happily amazed and blown away by the fact they did songs like Planet Telex, The Tourist and especially Airbag which I love and just never expected to hear. |

So is Thom Yorke, which why she was supporting Radiohead....
You know you can have you're own opinion. Which is why on this occasion I'm disagreeing with the erstwhile Radiohead frontman

Bat For Lashes is amazing. I had the pleasure of meeting her and she is a great person, too.
Bat For Lashes is just the singer/keyboardist, by the way. Her band are from other projects but work with her mainly. |

Anyhow, I get the point. Clearly "she" has allot of fans on here...as well as Mr. Yorke and Lauren Laverne ![]() I'm still not convinced. |

I don't think she's the type to be appreciated in a massive arena. Her style is more suited for a small venue. After all, you can't really do anything other than stand there and nod to her music.
Each to their own... some people will like it, some won't. It's the way music works. |

...and? Are you saying because Mr. Yorke likes them/her they are automatically good?
You know you can have you're own opinion. Which is why on this occasion I'm disagreeing with the erstwhile Radiohead frontman ![]() I was simply stating that fact that Thom Yorke likes Bat For Lashes and ask her to support them on the UK leg of their tour. Why do some people seem to go looking for confrontation on here where there isn't any?????
