How young do they think she is? I think Bernadette had the right idea although I wouldn't have said it out loud! I mean the decorations, the music, the dress, the bow!
People are always going on about how young Abi is made out to be and this was just ridiculous! What is Tanya thinking she really does not have a clue! And Dot saying that they wanted to spoil " the little mite" !!! I'm sorry but she is 12! 12! I know kids are growing up younger these days but seriously this was just too much! Bianca was correct when she said "she's a bit old for a party aint she?" Yes Bianca she is! Most 12 year olds go to the cinema with mates or bowling or maybe have a few friends over for tea or a disco.
And where was Lauren at her sister's party? When they first arrived Lauren was the age Abi is now and she was never made otu like this! I was in tears of laughter and so was my mum who is often saying about kids being old before their time. Well anyway what does anyone else think?

Yeah I thought Bianca was correct. And the dress was dire. Most 12 year olds would pick what they wanted to wear not their Mum's choice.

Even though I can't stand Crabby I do think it was a bit of a cheek that Bernadette and her lemmings openly laughed at her for her dress and party. I got the impression they didn't like Crabby anyway so why bother going? I hate the way everyone fusses over Crabby like she's some delicate creature, I hate that poor Lauren is forgotten by everyone too

yeah she is 12! I cant believe it! they treat her like she is 8 i know! and ben too! they are in secondary school about to move into year 8! god she must have no friends apart from ben! With her stupid dress sense and love of guinea pigs - although i love them too just not as weirdly as she does. what i think makes her seem younger is the fact that she doesn't seem to get embarrassed. As a 14 year old I alwas worry about what poeple think of me, try hard to fit in and would never do anythign that might make people laugh at me. It is 5 year olds that fling themselves around without a care not 12 year olds! I mean whenever music comes on abi just starts badly dancing and to walk into a room dressed like that and completely oblivious to what she looked like is the mentality of a 4 year old. It is becuase she has been babied her entier life which wont do her any favous. It is the fault of the writers not lorna ( the actress)

I thought the whole point of the storyline is that she is young for her age - Bianca pointed out for us. Maybe it makes sense in the wider context of the Max returning? I wouldn't say its not realistic. I teach in a girls school, ages 12ish - 18ish, and while some of the 12 yr olds are very grown up for their age, you do always get one or two in every year who are still babies.

I agree Crabby does give the impression she's been babied all her life, especially by Max who has always given in to her and treated her like a little princess..... I've only ever seen Tanya tell her off for being naughty etc, but even she has been mollycoddling her to try and make up for sending Max away. I would also imagine that because for the past 11 years she's been the baby of the family until Oscar came along Max and Tanya have tried to keep her as a baby, I've known lots of parents do that with their youngest because they hate the thought that they are growing up and are no longer their "baby".

I think they want to make her different from the likes of Lucy who are too grown up for their age (she's only a couple of years older than Abi, I think). But no doubt soon they'll involve her in a pregnancy storyline or something. It's only a matter of time!! EE seems to set out to mess up characters.

Lol would be amusing if she turned into a bigger tearaway than Lucifer Beale

It annoys me sometimes. The Ben storyline a while back was annoying as well, when he at 12 years old had no idea what vodka was and drunk some because Phil said it made you feel better. Come on, I think living in a pub is enough info for starters! Tanya is out of her mind; 12 year olds playing musical bumps? It was OK untill that happened.

Kids parties should up to the age of 11. Then you have slightly more grownup parties.

Lucifer Beale and Crabby I love these nicknames

Well, I think Abi is just a little daddy's girl and nothing more: the only person in the world she loves is her 'pure & saint' Dad. After there is her guinea pig and maybe her friend Ben... But Lauren, Tanya and Oscar come after!
But that doesn't make her a selfish girl, she's just not very mature in her mind. When she'll realize that her father isn't the best man of the world, maybe that could shake her more and make her grow up.
Even her little sister Lauren is more mature than her! And the funny thing about this is I always think about Lauren as the eldest daughter and not the youngest! Maybe because she hasn't got that Oedipus complex!

So the party is perfect to her bevahior, but not for all the guests... Maybe the next year she will want a more teenager party, with her own dress, her own guests (maybe just Ben ), her own entrainments... But that's not for this year!

Now, at the ripe old age of 34 ... i would of LOVED that party. I adore all things disco, jelly ..... with some wine thrown in

I couldnt believe it when Tanya asked who wanted to play pass the parcel

I liked Abbi's dress though. Kids want to grow up so quickly these days, and i thought she looked Princess like.
