Eastenders Exits- Getting A Little Old?
Well, this year we've had so many people moving away.
Gus on 1 May and Steven on 9 May and now Keith and Mickey on 1 July. What do you think would be a really origininal exit storyline? |

It's better than yet another death. EastEnders best two bitches in recent years have both committed suicide over the past year, while the car salesman had a car crash.
'Bout time for Joe Wicks' friends to abduct someone. |

Im sure in keeping with EE history, Keith and Mickey will leave at just a single days notice with nothing more then a bag each. If only it was that easy

It's better people move away than die...too many deaths makes the soap seem crazy.

I agree, that would be stupid. |

Hee that's funny I was just talking about how unrealistic the exits are in EE yesterday. It's stupid how one minute their entire lives are in the square then the next they can just pack a bag and leave without a thought. But the EE is far from the only soap do give crappy exits to characters.

People move homes all the time, it's the most realistic exit which still allows characters to possibly return. If we had deaths, abductions and what not as exits, people would still be moaning. There's no winning with soaps, if they do something overly original, people says its too unrealistic and sensational. If it's an ordinary, everyday type exit, it's not original enough or too boring.

I have no problem with them leaving the square I just find it unrealistic that they can drop everything in their lives like their home, friends, family, job etc in about one episode and just get on the train or in a cab without a second thought.A few weeks opr just a few episodes build up and a realistic exit would be nice sometimes.

Have we ever had a big Walford tube crash? A train could fly through the air and land on the Queen Vic perhaps.
Not very sensitive, I know, but rather ridiculous. |
