they were talking about cigarettes and one of em said:

"you know why you shouldnt buy marlboro cigarettes?"
"no? why? klu klux klan?"
"no, look he..."
*abrupt change of sound to guy playing guitar*
then they talked for a while with sound that didnt match and then cut back to normal after about 30 secs. bah. I was expecting to see it as it happens not how the producers want it to be. that's certainly put me off the show.

the point is that they didnt have to censor it, they could've just passed it off as something someone said on live tv. **** em.

They've got to do a task of keeping this fire alight for so long, so some stay up, while the others sleep.

Is it just me or are the challenges and tasks a stupid waste of time?

Well i think it was a problem with the coverage and NOT editing. When i watched there was lots of swaring and it was all unedited.

Doesn't 4am mark the end of the watershed? I know they said uncut coverage, but did anyone really believe them? The line has to be drawn somewhere.

I think the production team may have censored the klu klux clan thing to protect Bubble from any liable case that Marlbro could have brought against him if people stopped buying their fags.

The watershed runs from 9pm to 6am, note how Sky Movies won't start anything above a PG at 5am, that runs through 6am.

Looked into this a bit more.

I knew that subscription channels have an earlier watershed (8pm) as it mentiones this on Sky Premier. Accorinf to the itc website. The watershed ends at 5:30.

I presume C4 are just covering themselves as some kids will be up before this time.

hennenoe: Why cover themselves when not legally obliged to? it defeats the purpose of watershed. any kids up at 3:30 can't complain (legally anyway) about seeing "strange" things on tv.

bananaman: swearing is fine, swearing is used a lot on lots of tv programs. i think some people might consider ku klux klan a bit more offensive.

dbuk: thats probably close (but more likely protecting themselves). however, bubble should be responsible what bubble says on (inter?)national tv.

No- it is censoring- if you listen att he start and end of the noise, you hear the audio fromt he hose fade in and out even when they are int he house, they will not be reciving background sounds from outside then.

i was watching it today
they seem to be blocking out stuff when they are talking about products or brand names

the sound was switched to wind, train, aeroplane noises when they were talking about tesco's and nivea sun stuff

they dont bother filtering the swearing though
bubble said f*** 3 times and that was clear as anything

..... and click on INFORMATION then CONTACT US and direct it to the EDITOR. If all else fails go to Channel 4's Website to contact them, which is what i did, emailed E4 and Channel 4.

More people who do it, the more they will take notice

Cheers, Mark

For anyone that is interested I think the KKK reference with Marlboro is something to do with the packaging. If you look on a marlboro packet there are three bands of red that could be misconstrued to be 3 seperate K's. I think this is probably what he meant. I think the link is tenuous to say the least.

cheers
