He soooooo looks like he is still in the 90s, though

I love Urban Hymns, but I'm not a massive fan of them as a whole.

Yep, great musicians with talent unlike Lily Allen who was screeching away before.

Is this what Noel Gallagher thinks Glastonbury should be about. A sad revival band of a band with a very short original career.
The crowd will accept the entertainment but this is really very second-rate posturing rock.

Really enjoying this set, and I'm not even much of a Verve fan.

I think this is a better performance than they did at Wigan 10 years ago. His voice sounds on top form.

Like I said somewhere else, they're not a patch on what they used to be. Only back together for the money. I've read several reports on this tour, and most have been damning, with them not being arsed et al.

Sounded good tonight, but then the cameras were there.

They were absolutely f***ing awesome! They were always a stunningly good band live - their records never really did them justice, and they were in brilliant form tonight.

I've not seen Nick McCabe in nearly a decade and he hasn't changed much - rooted to the spot, occasionally fiddling with the FX and making the most amazing expansive sounds.

It weird that Eavis senior didn't want them to headline - luckily his daughter disagreed.

I like the Verve but I found them quite dull last night. I turned over and watched Groove Armada's set instead which was brilliant.

I'm not sure if it was the sound system for some others or not, but Ashcroft's voice sounded incredibly clear and strong.

Richard Ashcroft has an amazing voice live, they are just a great live band generally. I really enjoyed the Glastonbury set last night, I thought they came across really well on the TV.

I saw them at The Eden Project on Friday and they were awesome there as well. It was a fantastic gig, they were all on top form and all looked well up for it - and that was with no TV cameras on them!

I am really looking forward to their new album, I bet Oasis are a bit worried as I have a sneaking suspicion The Verves new offering may be the better of the 2. It will be interesting to compare them later this year...

The Verve was amazing from what I saw.

I still can't believe The Verve managed to get Sunday's closing act spot even though they've only had one major album out 10 years ago though.

His vocals were the best I've heard from him in AGES! He sounded a bit rough on his last solo album but live here with The Verve he was destroying everything!

I thought they were absolutely fantastic. Yeah, they're a '90s band, but why does that mean they can't headline? Stuff like The Rolling People was blistering. And how can anyone deny the classic nature of stuff like History and Sonnet? The new single was great to end on too.

Very 90s, yes

I get the feeling that the Verve are back just because, like the same way a load of old acts are coming back.

JESUS! Anyone would think that rock music should only be performed by young new bands. There is no law to say a band cant pack it in and then reform to be enjoyed by new and old fans alike. You either like a band or you dont. it doesnt bloody matter how long they have been together OR apart.
