No because he had chosen not to be filmed

I am a massive fan of Mr Cohen but why oh why do that? Who does that benefit apart from his ego? And I thought as a Buddhist he would be trying to overcome that!

Surely choosing not to be filmed demonstrates a lack of ego.

Anyway, I saw him at Manchester Opera House on the 18th, perfect seats, perfect sound, perfect show, and a perfect gent.

I've been going to gigs since the early 70s (not so many, these days) and this was one of the best I have ever seen. If you get the chance to see him live - take it!

Indeed, I was really impressed at his humility on the Pyramid stage and constant bigging up of his band members and backing singers rather than himself. I only wandered over to see him out of curiosity as I'd previously thought his work a bit miserable but I was absolutely blown away, it was absolutely one of those all-time Glasto highlight moments that stay with you for years, especially with the beautiful sunset that was slowly unfolding at the same time. Especially "Hallelujah" which has been covered so many times but I don't think I'd ever connected was by him until he started performing it.

I am a little disappointed that it was not filmed but at the same time it reminds me why I have to GO to Glastonbury rather than just watch it on TV!

Me too

I can't wait - I have never seen him live before although I have been a fan since I was 16 ( more than 30 years ago )

The reviews so far have been fantastic

Have a wee before you go in.

In Manchester he came on at 7:30 and finished just after 10:40. there was a 30 minute interval, but the toilets were full then.

Crikey - I'll bear that in mind

There are a lot of people who because of health reasons or money reasons couldn't get to his concert. Maybe he or his management could have considered them
The only two reasons I can think of actively refusing to be filmed is money and Vanity

I'm quite tempted to go to the O2 gig, and I see that Ticketmaster have got good tickets (even though it's supposedly "sold out") but £60 plus enormous fees is a bit much considering my entire Glastonbury ticket which entertained me for 4 solid days was only £160 I think.

Might keep an eye out for some last minute ebay cheapies.

I am going on Thursday to the O2, the tickets say that it starts at 6.30 - does anyone know what time Leonard will start and also what time he will finish? - if not does anyone know how to contact O2, as I cant find a phone number anywhere to ring them and ask.

I saw him 15 years ago and he was fantastic - am so excited that he is coming over again

Not here to moan, just my opinion, but LC's "Hallelujah" is awful compared to Buckley's!

No it is not - it is brilliant - but it is very different. And it has a completely different feel and emotion to it.

I like Jeff Buckley's version until the end and then it just gets ridiculous, frankly.

I'm going to the O2 tonight, so excited! My friend rang the O2, he comes on at 8 and finishes at 11 she was told. Thanks for the tip about the toilets! I've not been to the O2 before so really looking forward to it.

Jeff Buckley did it better.
There are a hell of a lot of records where someone apparently "covered it better" than the original song writer's performance.

Often it's just down to which one you hear first, if you become familiar with a particular cover version and then later hear the original, the original can seem really bad, simply because it is often different!

It's still really great to hear the original writer perform his or her song and become aware of the talent that first went into that song to create it in the first place though.
