Hi all

Did anyone experience failed recordings yesterday, (Monday 30 June) using the Sony 770/870/970?

I ask, because I had the following set:

BBC1 EastEnders 8pm (on series link), BBC1 8.30pm, Police Camera Action! ITV1 9pm.

None of these actually came out. When I looked at my 770, the blue HDD light was on with the words "timer rdy" but nothing had advanced further than this. I later tried the BBC1 (new corrected time for the news on EPG of 10.35) as a test and it still didn't come on - just said the words "timer rdy" with the blue HDD light again. I tried ITV1 at 10.40 for a film and still the same scenario.

In the end, I re-tuned all my channels and re-put EastEnders back on series link again (for it had lost this info when I looked) and I must admit, later tested it out via timed EPG recordings for something on ch 4 at 23.05 and it worked as well as something then on BBC1 at 23.10 - again worked fine.

Do you think this had anything to do with the schedule changes due to Wimbledon on BBC1 yesterday?

I don't know exactly what changes there were, but it was almost like the EastEnders series link was "stuck" meaning nothing else could be recorded???

Just wondered if anyone else had any problems, mainly if you had EastEnders on Series link record?

As I say, a re-tune seems to have done the trick!

(BTW, I downloaded the latest firmware sometime ago successfully and have never had any problems until last night)

But - all is well and working correctly now, so can't complain!

Certainly the over run of Wimbledon did have an affect, not sure if it would have recovered overnight, it seems you did not wait that long to find out though. So we may never know.

No, I didn't wait that long really, so don't know if it would have kind of "reset" itself. To me, it seemed that the recorder was awaiting the signal to record EastEnders which was perhaps, never broadcast properly or picked up by the recorder - therefore meaning it was still thinking that the schedule was massively over-running????? Don't know....
