cold calls and nuisance calls
I'm looking for a landline phone I can assign a silent ringtone to for certain callers. Do any of you know of one? if it indeed exists. I am registered with the telephone preferences service but still get unwanted calls from withheld numbers.
I spoke to BT but they are no help unless I pay for them to be blocked. Thanks |

You know what, funny you should post about cold callers.
We received one this morning at 00.16. Fortunately my Dad was still up but all the caller done was breathe heavily down the phone and bequiet for a few mins before hanging up. Obviously, the caller was smart and with-held their number. But quite a nuisance, especially at this time of not. Kids have nothing better to do these days ;D |

you need to look at the panasonic range - good site here
I am using the 832 series, that will ban transmitted numbers(it just gives the 'busy' tone), and also has a 'night mode' that you can set start/end times for 'no ringtone' .. even better, you can then set a category so that a number in your phonebook will get past this.. so 'unknown' numbers will not ring (goes silently to voicemail) , and friends will get through... |
