Were Doc 4's parting words to Romana mkII at the end of the E-space trilogy. They've been mentioned on another forum as to a possible link between Donna Noble and that character. Probably nothing in it but worth a debate after other theories recently.

I would love it to be true, but I can't help but think it's going to be something less interesting.

A nice idea, but maybe a bit anti-climatic and irrelevant for the modern viewer that isn't a 'classic' fan, to obscure for the main series arc and final reveal in other words.

This really is stretching things a bit. I'm sure if you asked RTD about the choice of companion names he would say they are pretty random.

Why can't Donna just be Donna? Why does everyone need to connect her to a previous DW character?

I really mean no offense by this, but think about it guys given the way new who resolves stories, it is never what fans think it will be so thinking it is Romana is the biggest stretch of the imagination.

I suppose that Donna could be just Donna an ordinary human and not really Ramona but where would the fun be in that! This is Doctor Who and for me part of the fun of the show is trying to guess who's really who and what's going to happen next.

Yeah. I know everyone likes to speculate, but it would spoil the premise of Donna's character. I like that she's ordinary - she struggles along in life like most of us do, and she's been amazing! I will be extremely disappointed if she turns out to be something a lazy as another Timelord (would RTD really repeat this trick AGAIN?) or a Dalek or whatever other nonsense...

She is just a temp. From Chiswick. And she's done the most extrodinary things - thats what makes her special!

he dosent link stories to old ones rtd is a self confessed fan !! he has hidden embedded links in all his stories from series one eg bad wolf , and anagrams all over the place so i think you should be less patronising and let us speculate as we wish , when it comes to us old viewers who have watched for years , that is the reason that the bbc brought it back as they knew we would all tune in ,,if they where going all modern they would of created new baddies but lets look who has stared in all the final episode , daleks

Yea he drops clues an stuff throughout the series! Eg. something on your back, she is returning, bad wolf etc!! I think picking and choosing letters from peoples names is a bit of a stretch?

Sorry mate, but I am one of the 'old' viewers. I've been watching DW since 1974 but I realise that it is a show that moves forward with new ideas.

Yes you are right RTD does like dropping clues etc. But think about it, the example you give 'BAD WOLF' has nothing to do with the old series. Maybe RTD is a fan of the old series, but apart from bringing back old villains and a past companion most of the evidence is that he likes to do things in a new way. He and the BBC are making new Who for a new generation of viewers.

I'm not trying to patronise you, but its your 'everything points to it' conviction people question. Just think about it, you are trying to make some connection to Romana from a few letters in companion's names? And as other posters have pointed out, you could do that with almost any combination of names to make up the name of some previous character in the Whoniverse. That would be way to subtle for RTD.

jc ur argument has no weight go back to the drawing board . romana is a major character in the history of doctor who ,,,,,and your list makes no sense carry on trying to deny whats going to happen,and as of the modern viewer not understanding the romana character they wont have to the fact that donna is really a time lady will be enough ,

That is the worst part of the new Who for me. The show should move forward not be constantly dragged back.

I really hope that Donna is just Donna. Having yet another character turn out to be someone from the classic series is just lazy fanwank plotting.

Rusty has said that part of Donna's appeal is that she's an ordinary human who just happens to do extraordinary things so I really do hope that he sticks to this.

Im not saying i dont think Donna is something special, cz personally i think she is to! There has been enough hints to suggest she may be something else! Eg. The parallel worlds, the heartbeats, the time beatle etc, but the fact that you can build the word ROMANA from the letters in the companions names means nothing!!

I read pretty much all of the threads and if you go back and look at half the theories in them since 2005 and see how many actually turn out to be fact then I think you will be sorely disappointed. And most of the theories are based on something much more substantial than the letters RO MA NA.

Oh come on, the poster was not suggesting that would really happen, they were tryng to illustrate how completely devoid of any evidence your idea (that you seem to say is fact) is.

Oh and for the record, im NOT saying Donna ISNT Romana, and im NOT saying Donna ISNT a Timelord, NO-ONE can say that until they have seen the episode! All im saying is out of all the theories iv seen, yours is the weakest
