This storyline is just daft
as if a school would let a pupil miss 2 weeks of work. |

It's a school trip and I've been on one for about three weeks before. Who said it was a storyline, more of a plot device. Maybe the actress needed time off for school exams or something.

I realise schools do arrange trips and days out
but I didn't think they lasted as long as 2 weeks. |

You could go to France for 2 weeks when I was at school, now you can go for 3 weeks. So it isn't unrealstic.

In the middle of term ?? It does'nt happen these days. Hence, it is unrealistic. |

My school had a 4 week trip to China, 2 weeks of school time and the 2-week half term in between.

That's more understandable, as you were only missing two weeks of school time (although I still find that surprising - the longest trips our school ever had were only a week).

I remember our school let us go on a skiiing trip for about 2 or 3 weeks so it can happen- i do remember thinking wow 3 weeks! i'll go just because i can miss 3 weeks of school forget the skiing! lol
Also its during june/ july so all tests and major work would have finished by now. Generally the tests are in may for years 6/7 and in my expierence the work after may is relaxed and not too important it's just the work which they will relearn next year, so taking a school trip now isn't as bad as taking one before may when the lessons will be about what is going to appear in the test. |

I went away through school for two weeks doing work experience in Germany. But this was during the time set aside for work experience.

Isn't unrealistic, but they're bloody lucky! The most we got at school was five or six days. Mainly because three weeks would cost an absolute fortune - but then I guess selling insurance does bring in the millions these days...

Walford Secondary or whatever its called does seem to have a very relaxed attitude towards absenteeism anyway. How much time has Ben had off since he started last September?
