Does anyone recognise the number?

Twice this afternoon (Wednesday) someone or something rang us, neither of us got to the phone in time, so I dialled 1471 and the automated message gave us a Cardiff number 029 20537000. When I rang back, once by pressing three during 1471, and again I dialled the above number without the 029 as I live in Cardiff, and twice an automated message says the number is temporarily unavailable.

If nothing else, you are filling the coffers of the phone company. Using 3 after 1471 is the lazy and expensive way of calling someone back, and then phoning again adds even more to the profits.

I always take the attitude that if someone rings me and I don't answer, if it's important they'll ring back until they get me. If it's not, they won't.

Ps. That Cardiff number looks like Torchwood's number to me.

Telephone numbers in Indonesia
(0335), Prapat (0625), Puncak (0255), Purwakarta (0264), Purwodadi (0292),
- and note that they may well be in england, but 'spoofed' the number to some agency in Indonesia ..

I think you've added confusion to this thread by searching for 0292 whereas, of course, the STD code in the OP is 029.

Except of course that dialing just 0292 won't call Indonesia at all. For that you would have to dial 0062292.

If you DID dial 0292 and ended up in Indonesia then you only pay whatever rate your service provider charges for a call to Cardiff. Not an international call to Indonesia.

If you had explored further, you would have read this, though....
029 is the current telephone dialling code for Cardiff, having previously been 0222 and then 01222. However it is vastly misconceived (in the city but on a larger scale in South Wales) to be 02920
poppasmurf has the right idea - it is up to you, if you want a shock with your telephone bill later....

But if you dont care about that, and wanna bit of entertainment while winding up the telemarketer, here is an example!

How to torment telemarketers with one word!

more more ways to do it on the same link..
