Orange Home Phone advice

I know this is probably not in the right forum but the phone one gets about 2 posts a day!

Briefly I have been with Orange broadband since the wanadoo days, I've had some issues but it has all worked fine for a good while and I don't intend to fix it if it ain't broke - I note this to try to prevent the avalanche of posts saying how rubbish they are!

My package is the basic package and they now do a £4 month cheaper package which is quicker than mine and has a bigger download limit, being nice people they don't tell you this and automatically upgrade you! But to take this up you need to sign up to 'Home Phone', here you pay your line rental to BT and pay Orange for your calls which includes free weekend and evening calls. I'm not sure if this is good value or not and would be grateful for any thoughts, I'm on the basic BT package and also need to get my head around their new charges too for evenings and weekends!

Orange actually phoned me up today to offer me this package.

Ive been with Orange since the freeserve days (dial up then broadband) and like you have had a couple of problems but the service has been working fine.

The package they offered me was £24 per month, which includes line rental so you will be paying them and not BT for the line rental, and free evening and weekend calls which doesn't bother me as i don't use the phone, the line is only for the internet so was only paying line rental on it to BT.
