Hi All

I work in a shop that has one landline socket at one end. I have tried several cordless phones, but because they all have more or less the same range, the phone goes out of range towards the other end of the store.

I am currently having an extension fitted so that their will be a socket at the other end of the store.

My question is this:

If i buy two sets of cordless phones (and have a base unit plugged into each socket), would i be able to walk round the store freely, or would this not work?

Thanks for your help

Why not just buy a DECT repeater?

Good point!

My area manager arranged for the phone line extension to enable somebody to hear the phone going at the back of the store, lol, didnt really have an option.

So rather than get 2 diferent phones, i was just wondering if my setup would work, and if their is a certain type of phone i need

With DECT phones you often have the facility to pair handsets and base stations. Usually this is so you can have one base station with multiple handsets.

So in principle I suspect you could pair one handset with multiple base stations. Though I have no idea if this would actually work. Nor quite what would happen if the handset was in range of BOTH base stations.

I have a feeling this is one of those suck it and see situations. Unless someone whose tried it can comment?

It's doesn't usually work as some\most DECT phones can be manually switched between bases but won't auto roam, hence my suggestion of the DECT repeater instead of the additional phone point.
